LET YOUR HEART BE AN OPEN BOOK!

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23, 24

AT HIS TABLE:

God searches the heart, as we read here,

“I the Lord search the heart, try the reigns, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10

David wanted God to search his heart, and was asking God to lead him. It is good that we would search ourselves, and come to God if there is anything within us that is not righteous, and we can ask God to search our hearts and help us.

God knows what's within us and what we need. The searching of the heart must always start with our heart first though.

“Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. Lamentations 3:40, 41

SO WHO GETS SEARCHED FIRST…

Too often we start this searching by searching another’s heart first, however, it is said, judge not lest ye be judged. Now this searching of the heart applies to everyone in every situation, when selecting a king for Israel God instructed Samuel,

"But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature: because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7

Here again, God is looking at the heart. Starting with ourselves, we are to search the heart also, not to look upon the outward appearance, but instead look at the heart.

Don't spend hours in the mirror preparing your outward appearance for others and don't jump in amazement at the stature and the outward appearance of those that you see. God knows what you have need of, and starting with yourself,

God desires that you make your decisions based upon the examination of the heart.

<![CDATA[RUMORS!]]>Mon, 16 Apr 2018 12:56:36 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/rumorsPicture

RUMORS!

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” 1 John 4:7

AT HIS TABLE:

A rumor is an opinion that is widely spread around without a source of truth. Whether or not this opinion is true or false is of little issue. What is more important is the heart of those that are involved. First the heart of the one that is being victim to such opinions God will look to see how they are responding, are they quietly hoping and waiting on the Lord to defend them?, or are they taking a defensive posture and letting their anger get the best of them? We are instructed in these matters, as we read,

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26

Notice here that 1John 4:7 does not say that God is rumor, in fact God is only “love” and cannot be rumor, because rumors are not love, they actually would fall in the category of hate!

THEY LOVE ME, THEY LOVE ME NOT…

Again God is love and rumors are hate! God is fact and rumors are not fact! The fact is God loves the one(s) that rumors are being used against! So then we must ask the question: “What category of character should we place the offender who is guilty of spreading rumors?”

Gossiping about what is not fact, revealing opinions to others that are not true, or not complete truth, this itself is a grievous sin! We are called to edify one another as we read,

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” 1Thessalonians 5:9-11

Even if the rumor is true, to be guilty of spreading it will be hate in God’s eyes! Love is a protective cover given to us by God and when one should pull away that cover for selfish gain or for personal malice, God is aware that they have removed his blanket of love from that person and replaced it with words of hate!

For this cause God has called us to love one another!

God is love! Let us love one another!

<![CDATA[THE GIVER OF GOOD GIFTS!]]>Sat, 14 Apr 2018 08:37:47 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/the-giver-of-good-gifts9575571Picture

THE GIVER OF GOOD GIFTS!

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13

AT HIS TABLE:

Beneath the still waters, there are many things happening, life that cannot be easily seen, currents that move without assistance, and growth that no man take credit for. God is at work in your life in ways that you don’t know of yet. Every prayer makes a huge difference, because God answers prayer, therefore we are called to come boldly before the Lord. No need to be squeamish, or timid in any way.

God is approachable, he is generous, and always available. Who is like our God? No King would ever have it this way, in fact many Kings of old would have a person killed for approaching him in such a way, let’s say at two o’clock in the morning, you had a question, or three o’clock in the evening a request?

Only Jesus cares so deeply, and understands us so much to be available always for His children! God’s grace is amazing!

CALL UNTO ME AND I WILL ANSWER THEE…

At God’s throne of grace we are free to speak, to say all that is on our mind, to ask boldly with confidence knowing that God will answer without lashing out in anger! God only wants to give to us good gifts, as we read,

“If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a Father, will he give him a stone? Or if he shall ask for a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? Luke 11:11, 12

Of course not, what kind of parent would that be? God is our loving Father that is always wanting to do good for us. God hears our faith, He hears our cries, He sees our service, and our obedience, so that when we pray to him God knows that we are his and he stands ready to bless us.

It is not wrong for us to be persistent in prayer, or shameless in our pleas, nor is it wrong for us to have the nerve to ask “whatsoever ye desire!” God wants us to ask, He wants us to call unto Him, and he hopes that we will be fervent when we pray, as we read,

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

We need to be aggressive in prayer, not fearful, always trusting that God will do what he says! Don’t be embarrassed to ask, and always remember that you cannot have unless you ask.

Don’t be afraid to hold God to His promises, it is the reason that He has given them to us, so that we will hold them close in faith, and remind Him of all that he has said. In general,

Father’s do well for their children, so remember who you are in Christ, you are His child, and He will always be good to you!

 A BINDING FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS!

"Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by covenant of salt? 2Chronicles 13:5

AT HIS TABLE!

Sharing salt together in times past was a way in which a person would symbolize the agreement of a friendship forever with another. Salt is used as a preservative, and the idea was salt would preserve a friendship forever. It could never be changed once this took place. In the same way when God makes covenant with us he will never change it, he will never leave us, nor forsake us. This friendship is forever! Nothing you can do will cause God to break this covenant with you! As we read,

"All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the Lord, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute forever: it is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord unto thee and to thy seed with thee." Numbers 18:19

This friendship is forever! Jesus is your friend forever! It is a promise, a guarantee that is solidified by the salt of His word, a preservative that will last forever! This statute is forever, an enactment of law by God!

WOW! THAT’S POWERFUL…

What friend is there that will lay down his life for us and then make it law? Making it permanent and forever? No greater love hath any man than this that he lay down his life for his friend! Jesus is amazing!

A binding agreement from the King of Kings unto us, bound together and preserved by salt, the ancient ways of life, not to be forgotten, but are still in place today. Jesus makes this relevant and we know that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Forever we are bound together in friendship with him and this friendship is solid and firm, unshakable, unmovable, and ever- lasting!

<![CDATA[DELIVERANCE BELONGS TO THE LORD!]]>Fri, 30 Mar 2018 08:21:14 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/deliverance-belongs-to-the-lord4712842Picture

 DELIVERANCE BELONGS TO THE LORD!

And behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of the Lord, and let him deliver me out of all tribulation." 1 Samuel 26:24

IN JESUS TODAY!

The Code of Hammurabi is a well-preserved Babylonian law code, that dates back to 1700 BC. It is one of the oldest deciphered codes of law that exists. The Code consists of 282 laws, with scaled punishments, adjusting "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth". The human characteristics that we might see missing in this code is mercy, love, and more than anything there is no value on the life or the soul of another.

Forms of this code exist heavily in the extremist cultures that we see surfacing recently with suicide bombers and radical shootings to advance radical agendas. We know that Jesus came and changed this code and presented to us another, as we read,

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you that ye resist not evil, but whosoever shall hit you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also..." Mathew 5:38-42

THE NEW VALUE IN A LIFE…

Jesus continued on to show us that to value life and to consider another's soul is the new law and the righteous code from God himself. For example, King David held Saul's life and soul in high regard while he could have taken King Saul's life that night, he chose not to touch the Lord's anointed, as we read,

"Who can stretch forth his hand against the Lord's anointed and be guiltless?" 1 Samuel 26:9

The same value that we place on a person’s life and soul will be set on ours, even as we have set on others. When we give mercy and love, we shall receive mercy and love, when we deliver another from a difficulty, then we too shall receive deliverance out of tribulation.

God's code of mercy is a New Testament law that is given unto us along with love, forgiveness, and all of the teachings that value life and deliver us, as it is written,

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me released from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1, 2

RIGHT OFF OF THE BOAT!

“And when he was come out of the boat, straightway there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.” Mark 5:2

AT HIS TABLE:

As a Christian you can expect that as soon as you get to where you have been called to go that immediately your ministry will begin. When you arrive at that place everyone will quickly see that the light of God has come!

This is to encourage us all to be ready at all times for whatever may come our way. We are to be ready to share God’s word, ready to bless others around us, and ready to stand in faith on our firm foundation, which is Jesus, no matter what unexpected event is at hand.

AS SOON AS JESUS ARRIVED…

As soon as Jesus came out of the boat, what others would consider to be unexpected, began to happen, and Jesus did not say to this afflicted captive, “Hold on, let me get settled first before I begin to deal with your problem”, he dealt with him in love immediately! The unexpected ministry situation will arise when we least expect it, and if we are not prepared we risk losing our opportunity to shine the light of God into another person’s darkened world! We have a responsibility as Christians, as we read,

“Ye are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid, Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that is in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father, which is in heaven.” Mathew 5:14-16

Right out of the boat Jesus began to shine his healing light, commanding the demons to leave this afflicted man of the Gadarenes. Likewise we are to be ready to share our light with those that are afflicted around us, not to say unto them, “Hold on” Always be ready, take no script, no need to rehearse, just allow Jesus in you to shine through unto others.

Expect the unexpected as Christians, and be prepared to answer the challenge. Always know that God is working through you to affect the lives of those in need. In this way the people will marvel at what God has done.

<![CDATA[FORGIVENESS IS HEALING!]]>Mon, 19 Mar 2018 12:45:42 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/forgiveness-is-healingPicture

FORGIVENESS IS HEALING!

“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” Psalm 103:3

AT HIS TABLE:

We all need healing in different areas or at different times in our life, whether it is physical healing, emotional, or even spiritual. All of us have longed for healing. Healing always begins with forgiveness and Jesus has provided the way. When we come to Jesus seeking forgiveness for our sin and confess our faults he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to wash and cleanse us from all iniquity, as we read,

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Without Jesus there can be no healing, as we read,

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

THROUGH JESUS WE CAN BE HEALED…

When we come to Jesus confessing our faults, turning away from our old ways and turning to him, Jesus washes and cleanses us through his blood. We are then washed white as snow, forgiven, and made whole.

“O’ precious is the flow, no other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus!”

Jesus wants to restore our life to its original design, to the way that he created us, so that we can live life to its fullest. This is what he has said,

“For I will restore health unto thee, I will heal thee of thy wounds saith the Lord; because they called thee an outcast, saying this is Zion whom no man seeketh after.” Jeremiah 30:17

See here that God wants to forgive us and heal us of our wounds.

You can trust God to do it!

Come to Jesus today and allow God to heal you!

<![CDATA[ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES!]]>Tue, 13 Mar 2018 12:26:11 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/according-to-his-richesPicture

 ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES!

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

AT HIS TABLE:

So exactly how rich is God? He owns everything! So according to his riches which is everything! And…

YOU ARE HIS CHILD!

Ok, so you have needs, we all have needs, needs that others will attempt to fulfill through means that they can acquire here in this world, but for the Christian they will never have to attempt this on their own, because they will never lack! Really! Our God is faithful and He is able to provide all that you need!

Therefore…

ALL IS WELL WITH OUR SOUL…

All is well for the Believer who puts their trust and faith in God, because he always provides. He is able to always provide for us, because he is rich! He owns everything and his mercy and goodness toward us never runs out! There is no good thing that our God will withhold from us as we read,

“For the Lord God is a sun and a shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11

Do you have a need? God will give it when we ask in faith not doubting that he is able to do it, as we read,

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Mathew 7:7, 8

Trust God and ask, seek God and find him, and knock at the door of heaven and he will answer!

Come to Jesus today and receive him!

<![CDATA[HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US!]]>Mon, 12 Mar 2018 12:37:14 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/his-kindness-toward-us3537260Picture

 HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US!

That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:7

AT HIS TABLE:

To share with others His greatness, Jesus reveals God’s grace and kindness toward us in that God is always giving to us. It is easy to find someone that might question God saying, “What kind of God would do this or what kind of God would do that when referring to the hardships of life, showing their lack of faith in God, but who will stand to testify of our God’s kindness and grace toward us that has continued on throughout the ages towards all people?

SALVATION BY GRACE…

How many people though out time would say that God has saved them from destruction? It would be impossible to count these as they are innumerable. God continues to save many through His grace and kindness, as we read,

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8

God is always giving to us, delivering us, loving us, and protecting us in so many ways, it is impossible to write all of these stories. His kindness toward us all is forever amazing, as we read,

“For god commendeth His love toward us in that while we were still ye sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” Romans 5:8, 9

God loves us and desires that all of us are saved, He is not willing that any should perish, and has given His life to provide a way for us to be with Him forever.

Now God presents us with this directive, to Go into the world and preach of His kindness and grace.

Go out into your world and share with others your story about our God and his grace and kindness toward us!
