“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Consider this: Can you imagine yourself, having never committed a crime, going to death row and volunteering to live the rest of your life in confinement so that the criminal who is on death row would be allowed to take your place in your life, to live in your home, to have your job, to spend your money, and to laugh with all of your family and friends, while you suffer?

Or, can you imagine yourself, having never been homeless, giving up all that you have, your life, your home, your family and friends, your car, your money, and all that you are, so that you could give it all to a homeless person while you take their place on the streets with the other homeless, and not just for one day, but for the rest of your days?

This is not even close to all that Jesus has done, Jesus knew no sin, I can’t say this loud enough! Jesus knew no sin, he was perfect! Yet he was made to be sin for us. This is the truest beauty of God in Christ, that he wants so much to be reconciled to us that he would give so much to give us this chance! As we read,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

So many times you will see and hear this bit of scripture verse, but little is actually understood what this means. Jesus having no sin, meaning he loved his Father with all of his heart, with all of his soul, with all of his mind, and with all of his strength, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year, for all of his life here on this earth!

Jesus gave all of his righteousness away so that he could be made sin for us, so that we could be made righteous, who knew not even one drop of righteousness all of our life until we received Jesus!!!

We are all full of sin, but because God wants us to live with him, he removed all of our sin and placed it on his only begotten Son at the cross! NOW IMAGINE! Imagine how proud God the Father is of his Son, imagine what restraint this required to see his Son suffer at the cross, imagine how unjust this seems, that we should be free from sin, because Jesus took it all from us and became sin. Not that he ever sinned, God forbid! Jesus never sinned, ever, but he took our sins and died to pay the penalty so that we could live.

Jesus knew no sin, yet we are born into sin, as we read,

“Yet man is born unto trouble and the sparks fly upward!” Job 5:7

Consider all that Jesus has done for you today, all that he has done for the world! You might say, “Well I’m not so bad!” Hold yourself up to the light of the truth, and ask yourself:

Have I loved my Heavenly Father with all of my heart, with all of my soul, with all of my mind, and with all of my strength, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year, for all of my life here on this earth?

Undoubtedly the answer will be no, and then realize that we all sin and fall short of the glory of God, and that only Jesus was able to do this, and he gave this all up so that we can be made righteous in Him!

<![CDATA[APPROVED LEARNING!]]>Mon, 15 Jan 2018 13:55:30 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/approved-learningPicture

“Ever learning, but never coming into the knowledge of the truth.

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 2Timothy 3:7, 8

We are living in the age where any type of information is easy to obtain. The internet puts it all right at our fingertips as we search through online study, blogs, e-books, and almost anything we seek can be found and researched about any subject at our desire.

Still it appears that many people, as what might be known as a modern people, have actually resisted making gains towards the truth about life, even though the truth about life has for many years been made known and is always available to any that choose to search it out.

In this evil day, yes, in these last days, there are some who captivate and deceive others by worming their way into their minds and hearts. People that are vulnerable to anyone that promises to them a better life or a better way.

They do this with heart-warming stories, or systematic scientific studies, and they argue philosophies that lead others away from the truth. Even when all the signs of creation, of regeneration, and of our need for salvation point to the truth, still there are many that will resist the truth, deny it, and even exchange the truth for the lies of the world that are surely meant to deceive them.

Not too long ago it was a time of celebration, where for many years through history many have celebrated the coming of the truth! That’s right, the coming of the truth! The truth has come to us from God in the form of a sign, as we read,

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

Traditionally when someone seeks the truth, they will look for signs, a sign has been given, the truth has come, now it’s time to study that truth, as we read,

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2Timothy 2:15

Do you seek approval in life? Study the truth, study Jesus!

Do you search for the truth about life? Jesus is the beginning of all wisdom!

<![CDATA[THE CALLING OF AN AGENT OF CHANGE!]]>Sun, 14 Jan 2018 18:09:31 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/the-calling-of-an-agent-of-change2033627Picture

“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God.” Romans 1:1
Did you know that each of us are called by God? In fact even if you are just now reading this and did not know this, this now is your calling. You are being called right now, as we read,
“Today if you will hear his voice harden not your heart as in the day of rebellion.” Hebrews 3:15
You are being called right now! We are all called, at God’s specific time we are all called for His specific purpose and we see that some, such as Paul, are called to be an apostle. But did you know that all are called to receive Jesus, to be saved, to call others to receive Jesus, and to serve Jesus and others in this world? Absolutely you have been called to make a difference in this world, and through Jesus is the only way that we can truly be fully equipped to be an agent of change as we have been called to be.
“An agent of change!” Yes, since you have received Jesus into your heart a change has occurred, but that change was not only meant to pull you from darkness and deliver your soul from the doom that was to come, but that change has promoted you, and propelled you into becoming an “Agent of Change!”

<![CDATA[HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER!]]>Wed, 10 Jan 2018 09:41:20 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/his-mercy-endures-forever9668077Picture

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.” Psalm 136:1

To Him who doeth great wonders! To Him that by wisdom created all things! To Him that stretched out the earth above the waters! To Him that gives us all a firm foundation in which we can stand! To Him that giveth us light so that we may see to follow! To Him that smiteth our enemies with His rod of strength! To Him that leadeth us where we are to go! And to Him that giveth us land for us to possess as our heritage!

Unto Him belongeth glory, and honor, and praise!

There are so many things that our God does and continues to do for us on a daily basis to remind us of His love and care for us that we could never run out of reasons to give Him thanks, as we read,

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3

When we consider Heaven and all that it is we can imagine that the heavens are vast and continues forever, and so it is with God’s mercy, his mercy endures forever! So it could be said there are similarities between Heaven, all that it contains, and God’s mercy, and all that it offers to us!

God’s mercy is in fact our Heaven on earth!

God remembers us even that we are just a lowly servant and keeps us despite our frailty. Unto God we owe our all, why? Because His mercy is forever giving to us His love, His grace, and His acceptance! Who is like our God?

There is none like Him, no one can be unto us all that He is! Where can it be found, all of these benefits? Only in Jesus!

<![CDATA[RIGHT OFF OF THE BOAT!]]>Fri, 05 Jan 2018 09:43:18 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/right-off-of-the-boat2716539Picture

“And when he was come out of the boat, straightway there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.” Mark 5:2
As a Christian you can expect that as soon as you get to where you have been called to go that immediately your ministry will start. When you arrive at that place everyone will quickly notice that the light of God has come! This is to encourage us all to be ready at all times for whatever may come our way. We are to be ready to share God’s word, ready to bless others around us, and ready to stand in faith on our firm foundation, which is Jesus, no matter what unexpected event is at hand.
As soon as Jesus came out of the boat, what others would consider to be unexpected, began to happen, and Jesus did not say to this afflicted captive, “Hold on, let me get settled first before I begin to deal with your problem”, he dealt with him in love immediately! The unexpected ministry situation will arise when we least expect it, and if we are not prepared we risk losing our opportunity to shine the light of God into another person’s darkened world! We have a responsibility as Christians, as we read,
“Ye are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid, Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that is in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father, which is in heaven.” Mathew 5:14-16
Right out of the boat Jesus began to shine his healing light, commanding the demons to leave this afflicted man of the Gadarenes. Likewise we are to be ready to share our light with those that are afflicted around us, not to say unto them, “Hold on” Always be ready, take no script, no need to rehearse, just allow Jesus in you to shine through unto others.
Expect the unexpected as Christians, and be prepared to answer the challenge. Always know that God is working through you to affect the lives of those in need. In this way the people will marvel at what God has done.

<![CDATA[LET YOUR HEART BE AN OPEN BOOK!]]>Sat, 30 Dec 2017 12:22:10 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/let-your-heart-be-an-open-book5272153Picture

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23, 24

God searches the heart, as we read here,

“I the Lord search the heart, try the reigns, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10

David wanted God to search his heart, and was asking God to lead him. It is good that we would search ourselves, and come to God if there is anything within us that is not righteous, and we can ask God to search our hearts and help us. God knows what's within us and what we need. The searching of the heart must always start with our heart first though.

“Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. Lamentations 3:40, 41

Too often we start this searching by searching another’s heart first, however, it is said, judge not lest ye be judged. Now this searching of the heart applies to everyone in every situation, when selecting a king for Israel God instructed Samuel,

"But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature: because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." 1Samuel 16:7

Here again, God is looking at the heart. Starting with ourselves, we are to search the heart also, not to look upon the outward appearance, but instead look at the heart.

Don't spend hours in the mirror preparing your outward appearance for others and don't jump in amazement at the stature and the outward appearance of those that you see. God knows what you have need of, and starting with yourself,

God desires that you make your decisions based upon the examination of the heart.

<![CDATA[LIVE BY FAITH!]]>Wed, 27 Dec 2017 09:42:37 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/live-by-faith8011947Picture

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17

Who is just, or better, who is justified? This is a question that all desire to answer, yet many answer this question based upon what seems right to their own understanding, but few will answer this question by living a life that will justify them.

This will be like asking what is the difference between Cain and Lot? Cain who killed his brother Abel in Genesis chapter 4, and Lot who was delivered from Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis chapter 19.

Lot was called righteous after making the poor decision to go to Sodom and Gomorrah, and Cain of course was called a murderer after killing his brother Abel. Lot was called righteous because he actually grieved in his heart over his situation, hating all that God hates, while Cain simply hated his brother.

So then who is justified?

According to god only those that live by faith. Living by faith is a daily process, and not a onetime confession of the belief in God’s Son. We must live, and move, and have our being every day in Christ Jesus, as it is written,

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being, as certain also of our own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” Acts 17:28

We are God’s children, and are justified as such. If we should humble ourselves and receive this, then he will always receive us! We live in him by faith, we do not live by the world’s profession of doom and gloom, but by our profession of faith in the kingdom of God.

God who is able to save us, and restore us into his image and likeness never leaves us nor forsakes us. As his children we are justified because we live by faith!

<![CDATA[A BINDING FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS!]]>Fri, 22 Dec 2017 09:34:36 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/a-binding-friendship-with-jesus4404203Picture

"Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by covenant of salt? 2Chronicles 13:5

Sharing salt together in times past was a way in which a person would symbolize the agreement of a friendship forever with another. Salt is used as a preservative, and the idea was salt would preserve a friendship forever. It could never be changed once this took place. In the same way when God makes covenant with us he will never change it, he will never leave us, nor forsake us. This friendship is forever! Nothing you can do will cause God to break this covenant with you! As we read,

"All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the Lord, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute forever: it is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord unto thee and to thy seed with thee." Numbers 18:19

This friendship is forever! Jesus is your friend forever! It is a promise, a guarantee that is solidified by the salt of His word, a preservative that will last forever! This statute is forever, an enactment of law by God!

What friend is there that will lay down his life for us and then make it law? Making it permanent and forever? No greater love hath any man than this that he lay down his life for his friend! Jesus is amazing!

A binding agreement from the King of Kings unto us, bound together and preserved by salt, the ancient ways of life, not to be forgotten, but are still in place today. Jesus makes this relevant and we know that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Forever we are bound together in friendship with him and this friendship is solid and firm, unshakable, unmovable, and ever- lasting!

<![CDATA[REPENT OF YOUR SINS!]]>Thu, 14 Dec 2017 09:37:44 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/repent-of-your-sins9044748Picture

“For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” 2Corinthians 7:10

One of the works of the Holy Spirit is to convict us of sin. It is a washing of our soul when our sins are forgiven, and this work of repentance turn the shower of the blood of Jesus on in our life, for where there is no sacrifice of blood then there is no remission of sin. It is as an old time popular song tells us,

“What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus, what can make me whole again, nothing but the blood of Jesus—Oh precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow, no other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus!”

And we know that His fountain flows and is poured out upon us immediately when we confess our sin unto the Lord, as we read,

“That if we confess our faults unto the Lord, then He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” Hebrews 9:22

All that Jesus has done for us by becoming our sacrifice and propitiation for our sin to provide a way that we can be washed and cleansed, forgiven, and accepted by God. He has provided for us the only way in which we can inherit eternal life and without Jesus there is no way for us to enter into heaven.

In today’s time…

There are many who need to hear from us an appeal unto repentance!

<![CDATA[THE GIVER OF GOOD GIFTS!]]>Mon, 04 Dec 2017 12:44:04 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/the-masters-table/the-giver-of-good-gifts4935919Picture

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13

Beneath the still waters, there are many things happening, life that cannot be easily seen, currents that move without assistance, and growth that no man take credit for. God is at work in your life in ways that you don’t know of yet. Every prayer makes a huge difference, because God answers prayer, therefore we are called to come boldly before the Lord. No need to be squeamish, or timid in any way. God is approachable, he is generous, and always available. Who is like our God? No King would ever have it this way, in fact many Kings of old would have a person killed for approaching him in such a way, let’s say at two o’clock in the morning, you had a question, or three o’clock in the evening a request?

Only Jesus cares so deeply, and understands us so much to be available always for His children! God’s grace is amazing!

At God’s throne of grace we are free to speak, to say all that is on our mind, to ask boldly with confidence knowing that God will answer without lashing out in anger! God only wants to give to us good gifts, as we read,

“If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a Father, will he give him a stone? Or if he shall ask for a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? Luke 11:11, 12

Of course not, what kind of parent would that be? God is our loving Father that is always wanting to do good for us. God hears our faith, He hears our cries, He sees our service, and our obedience, so that when we pray to him God knows that we are his and he stands ready to bless us.

It is not wrong for us to be persistent in prayer, or shameless in our pleas, nor is it wrong for us to have the nerve to ask “whatsoever ye desire!” God wants us to ask, He wants us to call unto Him, and he hopes that we will be fervent when we pray, as we read,

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

We need to be aggressive in prayer, not fearful, always trusting that God will do what he says! Don’t be embarrassed to ask, and always remember that you cannot have unless you ask.

Don’t be afraid to hold God to His promises, it is the reason that He has given them to us, so that we will hold them close in faith, and remind Him of all that he has said. In general, Father’s do well for their children, so remember who you are in Christ, you are His child, and He will always be good to you!
