“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36

Can you imagine our God looking down upon the earth saying, “These silly people, still trying to do the things that only I can do!” Here we see Jesus reflecting in this same way on all that God can do, and how frail mankind is. Almost as though you can hear Jesus say, “Why don’t they just ask?”

God is able to do all things, but what exactly is he willing to do? All things that he is able to do! All things are possible with God!

To understand this fully we must understand that all of the things that God has written to us is all of the things that God has promised to us. This means that with whatever we desire God to do for us we only need to see if he has also written this to us, or if he has promised this to us. Many times people are asking God to do these incredible things that there is no way that God would be willing to do!

Such as things that would require him to sin or allow us to sin! God will never sin! So what are some of God’s promises? Some of God’s promises are to save, to deliver, to bless us, to provide for us, and to give to us more than before, or life more abundant. How do we know this? He has written this in His word, our Holy Bible. It is the book of promises from God to us, we just need to read it, understand it, and utilize it in our prayer life so that we can actually know what God is able and willing to do! And ask God according to what he has promised!

When we say, “God Willing” we are saying that we have asked God for what he has written to us, and promised to us, and we agree with Him that these are good, otherwise we know that He is not willing to do it already.

So why do we ask crazy things? Because we might not know what God has written and promised! To get it right, All that we need to do is study and learn, and we will soon get on tract with what God is truly willing to do!

Remember God is perfect, without sin, without greed, without hatred for another person, and without lust for possessions. Let’s begin there, of course there are many things that are to be included beyond these, but that is why we are to study His promises to learn, as we read,

“Study to show thyself approved unto God.” 2Timothy 2:15

<![CDATA[JESUS IS THE WORD!]]>Fri, 16 Mar 2018 08:26:48 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/jesus-is-the-word6007326Picture

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Mathew 4:4

God, having adopted us, counts us as his children and provides for us all our needs. He wants us to live life and therefore provides for us food that ensures that we will live forever, this is love!

The love of God is simulated by a mother in every species that lives. A mother feeds a child personally with all of her heart and in many species mouth to mouth in order to ensure that her baby gets all that it needs. God feeds us the same, every word that proceeds from his mouth is directly sent to us to be consumed by us for our daily consumption and life giving sustenance.

God’s definition of "live", when he states "shall not live" is living forever. To "live" as God desires, is not to live for 80-100 years and then live no more! God wants that we live with him forever! What earthly food has been created, invented, or grown, that will give us life eternal? There is none! Only God's Word. It is His word that never quits, never fails, and never fades away, as it is written,

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away" Mathew 24:35.

When we are filled with that word, which is proven to last forever and is forever proving that it will be here forever, eternally, never to fade away, then we too shall remain alive forever, also never to fade away. How can we get this type of food? This Living word? This living word is Jesus, Jesus is alive and lives today and forever, eternally, and has been given to us, as it is written,

"And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14

Only Jesus can keep us alive forever, there is no bread or drink in existence that will give us life eternal. Open your mouth today and receive Jesus and His living words into your belly!

Receive the gift of life through Jesus Christ! Receive Him and consume his words and you shall have eternal life and shall be forever satisfied!

<![CDATA[THE VISION IS YET FOR AN APPOINTED TIME!]]>Thu, 08 Mar 2018 09:36:19 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/the-vision-is-yet-for-an-appointed-time8794936Picture

"Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto being saved ready to be revealed in the last time." 1 Peter 1:5

For such a time as this! By the power of God many people and things have been placed in reserve for the appointed time. God is able to do it, and His wisdom in formulating the strategy for the end times is evident. Of course, God has many ways and many people who serve, but he uses this wisely.

No need to pour out, reveal, or place on active duty everything exposing all and potentially expending all before it is time. You might be praying for things to happen and wondering why they are not happening yet, herein is the reason.

God is a perfect strategist, orchestrating everything as a Master should. It is no less great to be used in the latter days than it was in the beginning. God reserves things for the appointed time, as we read,

"...Let us now fear the Lord our God that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in His season: He reserves unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest." Jeremiah 5:24

Ready to be revealed in the last time or as some might say, "He saves the best for last" just as it was said to Jesus at the first miracle in the making of wine at the wedding of Cana of Galilee,

"And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now." John 2:10

Haven’t found a place to serve yet? Still waiting to be used? Wondering when that prayer will be answered? Just remember that God has His appointed time and some things are held back for His great purposes! He has been known to save the best for last! He is never late though, and his power is able to keep us unto that appointed time!

<![CDATA[COME UP HERE!]]>Fri, 02 Mar 2018 08:08:46 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/come-up-here5490112Picture

"After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, ‘Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.’" REV. 4:1

HEY!!! HEY!!! EVERYONE LISTEN!!! This is what a trumpet might say when it talks to us. Very loud it can be, but really, doesn't it have to be this way? What will it take to get the attention away from us and our world so that we might focus on Jesus?

The blowing of the trumpet is not a new thing. Hosea 8:1 tells us to set the trumpet to our mouth! Jeremiah 6:17 reads "I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, we will not hearken."

Rev. 1:10 reads, "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet." How much louder does it have to be before we will hear?

In the days of famine and difficulty turn to Jesus, hear his voice, and focus all of your attention on him. Jesus is sending us all a message with the conditions of the world and terrorism right before our eyes. Can you see it?

Does the trumpet have to get any louder than this? Will we all hearken to his voice and receive him in our life today and begin to work together to get things done?

Some might say, "What's the use? Everything is too far gone!" While others might say, "What can I do? I want to help!" For those that say, "What's the use" the trumpet will only get louder and for those that say, "What can I do" they have heard the trumpet and will see the Lord!

<![CDATA[PRAISE THE LORD!]]>Sun, 25 Feb 2018 13:07:56 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/praise-the-lordPicture

“Even everyone that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea I have made him. This people I have formed for myself, they shall shew forth my praise.” Isaiah 23:7, 21

How many know that we are here for a reason? A purpose that pleases God?

So many today are consumed with other thoughts and desires that are so far removed from what we were all created for, we are not here for our own gain, for our own plans, or for the making of our own ideas! Instead we have been created and placed here to please God.

Some will say I help many people, I am friendly and do many good works, or I am a good person because I work hard and live a quiet life! My friends clearly these type of statements point to how far removed they may be! They are statements that are all about themselves and not about pleasing God at all!

Not one of these statements claim to praise God and are directed at pleasing him!

Chosen and Peculiar is who we are. Anyone that is called by his name, “CHRISTIAN” has been chosen and to the world will seem peculiar because they do not live their lives to bring praise and glory to themselves, but rather to their ALMIGHTY AND HOLY GOD! It is our purpose and the reason why we have been created, as we read,

“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

Let us offer up to God today the sacrifices of praise, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to him for all that he is and all that he has done!

Let us praise the Lord! Sing songs of gladness and thanksgiving to our Lord!

<![CDATA[SAVED BY HIS LIFE! AND HEALED BY HIS STIPES!]]>Wed, 21 Feb 2018 09:34:39 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/saved-by-his-life-and-healed-by-his-stipesPicture

“For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God, through the death of his son, much more being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” Romans 5:10
Jesus, our Lord and Savior has given His life for us, to save us from the whaling and gnashing of teeth that we would otherwise deserve, as all sinners do, and to secure our souls so that instead of what we deserved we would have our eternal place with our loving Father, even Jesus, God’s only begotten Son who obeyed God and gave His life for us!

Now we all know that Jesus died on the cross at Calvary, few would dispute this truth, knowing that all evidence shows that He gave His life as a criminal to some, yet as a Savior to all. Jesus paid the price that man could not pay, there was no other way or means by which we could be saved from eternal damnation and so Jesus became our sacrifice and our payment for our sin and the sin of the world!

Now, not only did Jesus give His life that all who believe would be saved, but the manner in which He gave His life saw Him pour out His blood as He gave His life offering healing to all who are sick, all who are afflicted with disease, and all who are broken, as we read,

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

See here, Jesus, who gave His life that whosover believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life as we read in John 3:16, but also to whosoever receiveth Him they shall be completely healed by His stripes!

Thirty Nine stripes and His blood poured out for us is for our healing!

<![CDATA[CASTING OUT!]]>Fri, 16 Feb 2018 09:39:20 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/february-16th-2018Picture

“And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, How is it that we could not cast it out?” Mark 9:28
How is it that we cannot do certain things? It is because our activities, hopes, dreams, desires, etc. must first go to and through the source that can. As it is written,

“Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain!” Psalm 127:1

Each day we are given opportunity to reach out to Jesus and place in His hand our hand and walk with Him, but should we begin our day at full charge in ourselves and our own strength, thereby essentially leaving Jesus behind and forgetting that He is our source for all things possible until we find that things will not happen without him, then it should never be puzzling to us how it is that we cannot cast it out, because we are in ourselves and not in Him!

“These things can only be done by prayer and fasting”

So have we prayed before we started our journey? Have we fasted these certain parts of our life that struggle for our attention? Is our focus on the only source that can do it?

“Yes, of course they say, we did all of this!”

Yet in truth they have let go of His hand through it all! Do you see Jesus with you? Holding your hand and guiding you? Or is it that you set out and forgot your source? Yes, Jesus is always with us and will never leave us, nor forsake us. This is His promise, but what about our end of the deal? Do we leave Him and run ahead?

If so slow down and make sure that your remain at His side, Let go and let Jesus build it, cast it out, and lead you to it!

Do we concentrate on Jesus when we are casting out? If so we will have great success!

<![CDATA[VICTORY IN JESUS!]]>Mon, 12 Feb 2018 12:38:43 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/victory-in-jesus9088053Picture

“Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52

Listen, draw close, here is a mystery! Change from corruptible to incorruptible is victory! This passage that we are reading is talking specifically about a mystery that was once unknown, the end-time mystery of what will happen to all believers at the appearing of Christ, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, or sounding of assembly, as we read,

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” 1Thessalonians 4:16

Now there are many such mysteries in the Gospels, this mystery is revealed to dispel any fears that dying might attempt to impose upon those who follow Christ. So that there is no fear in death, it is revealed what happens when we die. Simply, we will be transformed, not because we look a certain way, but because no flesh and blood can enter into the kingdom of heaven. Also there is another mystery here, that not all Christians will die, but all will be transformed! Because some have not died while waiting for Jesus this does not exclude them from being transformed, it must be, because no corruptible flesh can enter the kingdom of heaven. Not all will die, but all will be changed, so the questions of what our earthly bodies will look like should be easily answered here. They won’t look the same! They will all be transformed!

I like what it says in 1John 3:2 because it states even more specific what we shall be like, as we read,

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1John 3:2

WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM! And exactly how is Jesus? INCORRUPTIBLE! No flesh and no blood and no corruption! GLORIFIED, HOLY, INCORRUPTIBLE! This is victory! Oh death where is thy sting? Here is the answer,

“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away the tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from all of the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.” Isaiah 25:8

“I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death, O death I will be thy plagues; O grave I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from my eyes.” Hosea 13:14

Victory is speaking here of a mystery! Death is swallowed up in Victory! So what does all of this mean for us? There is hope! There is Victory in Change, that we will no longer be corruptible! A serious goal that many live to achieve in life, to become more like Jesus, it will be attained!

There is victory in Jesus! No more sin, Amen! Don’t let the thoughts of death bother you, get busy now for Jesus, the great mystery is, all will be taken care of in the twinkling of an eye. Quickly!

So don't worry about the preparations, set all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength to work at all that Jesus has called for you to do!

Let not your heart be troubled! Grab onto Victory! Draw near to Jesus!

<![CDATA[WORDS OF LIFE!]]>Sun, 11 Feb 2018 13:04:40 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/words-of-lifePicture

“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a breach in spirit.” Proverbs 15:4

Having poor taste or poor manners is related to being rude. Some don’t mind using language that is rude or offensive, but little do they know that out of their mouth come words of death into the world. A vulgar tongue is therefore a tree of death!

Some will think themselves to be cool or even think it is O.K. to be spitting out language that ushers into the room and into society’s ears, depression, discomfort, darkness, and death. These often do not understand that they are being used to destroy, faith, joy, goodness, and life.

What comes out of our mouth ought to be of serious consideration. All that we say speaks the spirit of life or the spirit of death into the lives of others. Therefore as people who are concerned for others we seek to speak words of life and faith to them. Words of faith and of life come from hearing as we read,

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

“And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.” John 12:49, 50

“He that believes on me, as the scriptures have said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38

After reading these facts, what does it say about the person that uses foul or vulgar language to express themselves? Of course it tells the world that they are promoting things that tear down society and the lives in it.

Speak words of life, faith, joy, hope and goodness into the lives of others always! Let us all do by coming to Jesus and sharing with others all that he has spoken.

<![CDATA[THE WAR IN OUR MEMBERS!]]>Fri, 02 Feb 2018 09:38:59 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/letters-of-hope/the-war-in-our-members3381704Picture

"From whence cometh wars and fighting’s among you? Come they not hence, even of the lusts that war in your members? James 4:1

Do you know that there is a war within each of us, our spirit vs. our fleshly desires? Paul said in Romans 7:23,

"But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."

So where does sin come from? Sin originates from within us, and repentance is an absolute necessity in this lifetime to be more than conquerors over the wages of sin, which is death.

Charles Haden Spurgeon put it this way,

"Do not fall under the notion that the necessity for repentance is over. I have heard it said that repentance is merely a change of mind. I wish that those who so speak had undergone that change."

In other words there is more to it than just a change in mind with words, there are actions required, or as the book of James tells us, the seven steps to repentance that must be taken. These seven steps are found in James 4:7-10 and they are,
 • Submit yourself therefore to God.
 • Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
 • Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.
 • Cleanse your hands, ye sinners.
 • Purify your hearts, ye double minded.
 • Be afflicted and mourn, and weep, let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
 • Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will lift you up.
Yes, there is a war within for each of us and this war leads to our captivity to sin if we do not have Jesus, but repentance is when we turn our back on sin and sin no more! These seven steps will help us defeat sin every time and allow us to partake in the gift of God instead. Although the wages of sin is death, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord! Romans 6:23 Through Jesus we will overcome!
