“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:22

Wow! Complete access to God, the creator of all of heaven and earth, and all things in them. We have full access to him, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, and get this! “IT’S FREE!” Yep that’s right, there is no cover charge! The cover charge has already been paid through the blood of Jesus, for us all!

This “Free” access is a privilege and an honor. We have the privilege to enter into God’s presence with boldness, having no fear that he will put us down for our sins! We have the honor to dwell with God all of our days while we are here on earth, and to anticipate our eternal future with Jesus our Lord.

Now understand this is completely “FREE”, and available to us 24/7, and we don’t have to do any work to earn it, it cannot be obtained by the works of our hands! Only by the blood of Jesus, which has been shed as a propitiation for our sins. It is up to us to decide to enter into, and utilize this gift, as we read,

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;” Hebrews 10:19, 20

Imagine the smile that Jesus has for his children that come to him, but there is another thought that is present, this thought is reserved for any who will choose to turn away from this offer of “FREE ACCESS” to God.

“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” Mathew 25:10

Oh, make no mistake here, it is true that Jesus is always open right now, but soon there will be a day that the opportunity for full access is no more! It will be forever closed on this day! Since it is open to all right now, and open 24/7, it would be a horrible, and totally disrespectful action by anyone that would turn their back from God and walk away.

If they should deny his offer, of course it will be that they are denied access before the Father!

Now’s the time to come to Jesus! Now! While Jesus’ arms are always open, we can come to him boldly, and we can share with him our days now and forever, having peace with God, we shall never have to worry about our future!

<![CDATA[RIGHTEOUSNESS THROUGH FAITH!]]>Fri, 09 Mar 2018 09:39:16 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/righteousness-through-faithPicture

“Not having righteousness of my own, even that which of the law, but that which is through faith in Jesus.” Philippians 3:9

For most people the desire to be righteous is very important. Debates, arguments, votes, and many various extra efforts are applied toward the desire to be right. Some will look to the law, some will tell of their good works, self-achievements, awards, and even give reference to people who might validate their character in order to justify themselves as righteous.

In some ways all of us at some time have broken both God’s law and Man’s law, even the best of us have fallen short and are unable to keep the whole law, as we read,

As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.” Roman 3:10-12

If you are trying to justify yourself by keeping the law, you will be disappointed, because none of can keep the law at all points, if you are trying to justify yourself by doing good deeds listen to what is said,

“All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” Isaiah 64:6

Wow! So much for try, try again, it doesn’t work towards our justification!

There is only one way that we can be justified before God. That is by faith in Jesus!
Jesus is our righteousness, as we read,

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who never sinned; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

“Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus, unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference between Jew and Gentile.” Romans 3:22

<![CDATA[TRUST GOD!]]>Mon, 05 Mar 2018 13:02:37 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/trust-godPicture

“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against works of iniquity.” Psalm 37:1

Wow! What a settling and reassuring word of truth that God has given to us! At the very moment of concern, just when everything seems wrong, God steps in and heals our fears, as he tells us that he is, “On it!” “Don’t worry about it!”

God gives us confidence in our hour of need, as we read,

“Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” Proverbs 3:25, 26

God continues to work on behalf. When we are confronted with evildoers and we choose to seek shelter from God and trust him he will make it a bad day for them, as we read,

“For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and whither as the green herb.” Psalm 37:2

God is serious, he doesn’t joke around with the serious concerns of his children. When he gets involved in your situation you can rest assured that your enemies will be taken care of according to his will.

It is entirely possible that they will soon repent and turn to God in truth very soon or as we have read earlier, cut down, humbled, and even devastated in some cases or scattered as far as the east is from the west.

God loves his children extremely, how much is that you say? Here’s how much!

“But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

God will not allow you to be frightened by what may happen to you without calming your fears and sending to you the truth! No one will be able to prevail against God and no one can pluck you out of his hand!

You are safe in Christ Jesus and shall never be moved from the place that he has put you! So come to Jesus and trust in him,

<![CDATA[FAITH WORKS BY LOVE!]]>Tue, 27 Feb 2018 13:06:23 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/faith-works-by-lovePicture

“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.” Galatians 5:6

Our faith in God is meaningless and without any power unless we love others.

God is love and since he is love we also must be about love. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son! This was his love for us, and it was the greatest example for us to follow, in that we should likewise give to others our time, care, and concern to show them that we believe in love. God commands us to do so, as we read,

“A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples; if ye have love one to another.” John 13:34, 35

Where there is no love there is only darkness and without love we all wander as zombies through this world of darkness not having anything around us or anyone around us that we can see. Unless there is love all things are become useless and life itself becomes pointless.

But where there is love, all of the beautiful colors of life come flooding back in, into a darkened world, and into every living thing within it. When love fills this world we all then have purpose for or lives and cherish the importance that each person’s life brings into this world.

God is love, God is light, God is color, and God is purpose!

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath given to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1John 4:16

To be in God, and to truly have God within there must be love and the desire to share it with others. This faith in God works by love. It is only an imitation if faith is without love. It is only words without action where there is no love. It is only selfishness without the sincere goodness of God when there is no love!

There must be love for your faith in God to be real!

Show your faith in God by sharing your love with someone today!

<![CDATA[SENT FOR A PURPOSE!]]>Thu, 22 Feb 2018 09:39:34 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/sent-for-a-purpose6094174Picture

“Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharoah, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt!” Exodus 3:10
We must understand all that we do is based upon how we view God, how we worship Him, how we interact with Him, the way we live, the way we speak, and all that we accept or reject is based upon all that we hold in our heart and mind to be true about God. Accepting or rejecting our purpose and mission is determined by what we believe about God. Whether we worship God with all of our mind, all of our heart, and all of our soul. So then we must have a real view of God in order to accept his calling in our life.
If we believe in God then we easily accept our calling, if we doubt God then we easily reject our calling, and so on. Who is God, and what does He require of us? What He requires of us is to believe in Him, and to understand that He is greater than any! The most important thing in our life is to have a correct view of God and what he desires. It is the most important thing about us, we must be determined to know only the truth about who God is, so that we can move forward to greatness in life.
We need God for all things in our life! God is the giver of life! Not only do we need to know God and who He is, but we need to understand ourselves and admit that we are not able to live a righteous life without Him. We are not able to fulfill our purpose, the reason why we are here, and what God has planned for our lives without having Jesus by our side every step of the way. God doesn’t need us, because He is Self-Existent and Self-Sufficient. But we are the ones who need him!
Herein God called Moses to be the leader of his people, in other words the Great “I Am” called Moses to do it! Our ability to know who is calling us gives us the ability to accept the call. We are not called by someone that has been created out of the figments of our imagination. We will never be able to follow through and accomplish anything until we realize who has asked us to do it. It is our God who calls us, and God has always been! Never was he ever created, nor is he accountable to us or anyone or anything, yet we are accountable to Him! What right does God have to call us? Because God says “I Am” We need to be clear about who God is! God has the right to call us, because he gives us life! We were bought with a price as we read,
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” 1Corinthians 6:20
When God calls us to do a thing, we must answer him with the joyful understanding that we are so very privileged to be a part of a good work. God deserves the Glory for our lives and everything that we are called to do. In fact God is glorified through us, we are His children, so we might regularly ask God, even as Jesus asked,
"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." John 17:3-5
God gives us glory. He does not need humanity, he created it, but doesn’t need it. We need him for all things in life, and we ought to be forever grateful for all that He has done. We are sent for his purposes and we rejoice in this great opportunity to serve!

<![CDATA[THE MEASURE OF A MAN!]]>Sat, 17 Feb 2018 09:11:40 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/february-17th-2018Picture

“You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that your days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.” Deuteronomy 25:15

In 2015 a French Comedy Film was created that won many accolades to include, best actor, best film, and best director. The plot is a very important one for life, the main Character Thierry had been unemployed for 18 months, having lost his job as a factory worker. At the age of 51, he lands a new job as a security guard in a supermarket. He tries to make ends meet in working-class France. However, this is not about leaving a legacy. He was measured and compared according to this world’s scale.

In 2012 there was another movie, a Christian drama that was titled the same, “The Measure of a Man” based upon a Father that was seen through the eyes of his daughter. Donald Bailey,
who, as a teenager, leaves California and sets out to make his mark on the world. Many years later, during her father’s final moments of his battle with cancer, Elizabeth Bailey recalls pivotal moments in her father’s life, the plot captures the importance of leaving a legacy of love and faith, and shows that in the quest to create a good life for others, one can craft a legacy that lasts much longer than a lifetime. You see there are so many scales that can be used to measure a person’s worth.

Is there hope for those that have made many errors in their life to be measured by a different standard than this world’s standard?

Our God is a just God, he determines all things with a precise accuracy that never fails, and he yields a perfect and just weight in every matter of life. In order for us to do the same, we must understand what it means to have a just measure, and by what means we measure life with. When we measure life, estimate or determine the nature of life, its value, quality, ability, or when we measure the significance of a person, place, or thing, we must make sure that we are using a just scale. That sounds easy right?

Not actually, because there are different standards by which we can choose to measure them by. If we measure life according to many of the standards set in this world, there are many that would walk away from this scale with a less than approved rating, and many that would be a great success, likewise if we are to measure life according to the words of God, then there are many that will walk away with a less than an acceptable rating, and yet a few would be considered chosen as we read,

“There are many called, but few are chosen.” Mathew 22:14

Our worth is not to be based upon this world’s standard, but rather viewed according to God’s perfect law of liberty, as we read,

“For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in the glass: for he beholds himself and goes his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whosoever looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:23, 24

We need to understand what matters most, as we have read, “You shall have a perfect and just weight, and a perfect and just measure” , which is the perfect and just law of our God only!

The measure of a person is determined according to the word of God, which last forever, not the success of this world, which in the end will crumble and fall.

<![CDATA[ARM YOURSELVES WITH THE TRUTH!]]>Tue, 13 Feb 2018 13:42:50 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/arm-yourself-with-the-truth9953343Picture

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin.” 1Peter 4:1

One of the major goals that all Christians share is to not sin anymore, or at least to sin less. This is our hearts desire, no one wants to sin! The idea that we would be sinning in any way after receiving Jesus into our lives is troubling to us all, however the reality of sin is still present with us, as we all struggle with the war between our flesh and our spirit, as Paul has pointed out to us, citing that the sin nature still remains amongst us, as we read in scripture,

“For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” Romans 7: 22, 23

It is a life long struggle, because we are born unto sin as we read,

“Yet man is born unto trouble as the sparks fly upward,” Job 5: 7

Yet there is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Romans 8:1

Despite our state of struggle, we can overcome sin, by walking in the spirit of God, and serving Jesus above serving our own desires, and suffering, and denial serves a great role in this victory, as we read,

“For he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lust of men, but to the will of God.” 1Peter 4:2
We need to embrace suffering for all that it is worth, no more are we slaves to sin, but rather we are servants to God. The suffering that Christ endured on the cross has broken the grip of sin, and we are no longer living in the flesh, no longer pursuing the lust of this world. We then are willing to sacrifice in order to be free from sin.

Having this mind of sacrifice in us so that we must triumph over sin, not giving into its demands. Although we live in a sin-filled world, and we might lose friends by our departure from sinful activities, we consider our life to be dead to sin, and now we are free from sin forever. This is what happens when we die, we sin no more! This is why Paul could say,

“For me to live is Christ, but to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21
So we see here that suffering is good, and even our teacher through life. Sin-less-ness is our goal, and so we do not fear suffering, and we can even see the joy beyond it, which enables us to endure suffering and grab onto victory; Just as Jesus did, as we read,
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

<![CDATA[THE DRAINED MAN!]]>Wed, 07 Feb 2018 09:31:44 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/february-07th-2018Picture

“And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.” Judges 16:4, 5

Here we find the popular story of Sampson and Delilah, wherefore it is written,

“And Samson went to Gaza, and saw there a harlot, and went in unto her.” Judges 16:1

This is Sampson’s Sin. Yes it was a sin of the flesh, but even more than this, it was a sin of the soul in that this sin was a sin that gave ammunition into the hand of his sworn enemy, the Philistine. His taking a Philistine to become his wife was the equivalent of the Christian man that would take a sworn Wiccan or a lifetime friend of Satan that has vowed to destroy him, simply to fulfill his desires within.

And what was it that Delilah used as her weapon against Sampson? Sure her beauty may be cited, but what Delilah was very good at was appealing to a man’s lust, as we have read. A harlot’s work is to appeal to a man’s lust in order to get paid. Someone, esp. a woman, who engages in sexual intercourse for money. This is what Sampson fell prey to.

His true weakness was not in the losing of his hair, (which was the secret to his strength. Judges 16:5-17), but it was the giving in to his lust that was his weakness.

Most men, if not all, or at least all that I have known, have struggled in this area of lust. It is of the three things that God hates, as we read,

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1John 2:16

Christians, these three things God hates, these are the three areas that our enemy exploits in order to destroy us, and these three are in this world right now roaming about seeking whom they may find to be weak in the areas of lust and pride. In this world is where they exist, just like us, they are in this world, in fact they rule this world through pride and lust! As Christians we must open our minds to understand that we are not living in a friendly world, in fact we are in a world that is hostile toward us.

So that we never fall prey to the pride and lust that may destroys us we must be vigilant! For the enemy is always on the prowl, as we read,

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

We must realize how quickly we can be drained of our strength if we should give into this area of lust. As we are instructed,

“My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.” Proverbs 7:1-5

“I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee.” Psalm 2:7

God hath said, you belong to me! He has taken full responsibility for you, to lead you, to raise you up, and to provide for you needs all because He loves you and cares for you. This is what a Father does!

This day, not tomorrow, no, there is no delay, no waiting period, or approval process, but today, this day you are His!

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” Ephesians 1:4

God has chosen you to be His son or His daughter and a part of His family!

This is His purpose and you have been officially called, invited, accepted, and sealed! There is no delay on His part, it is up to you to choose Him this day! He wants to adopt you, as we read,

“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.” Ephesians 1:5

It is His pleasure to call you His child! It is our pleasure to call Him Abba Father and Lord of all!

<![CDATA[BE READY!]]>Tue, 30 Jan 2018 12:52:23 GMThttp://carymcquaid.com/men-of-honor/be-readyPicture

“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” Mathew 25:13

To be ready can be a state of mind, a state of being, or a time wherein we are prepared to take action, this describes what we all need. The story of the ten virgins that we read here in Mathew Twenty Five reminds us always to be ready for the coming of our Lord, lest we should suffer being left behind. Here again God continues to warn us, challenge us, and instruct us to watch and pray. Reminding us all that those who do this will be greatly rewarded, as we read,

“They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, and they shall run and not grow weary, walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Believe me when I tell you as a wise Christian you will be watching and waiting, this is a part of our fabric, we are made to anticipate with hope great things from our God, even as he shares with us over seven thousand exceeding great promises, such as the promise of his return! Watching and waiting are woven into who we are.

God is always watching, and His Holy Spirit is always interceding on our behalf for us. It is our part to always be watching and praying so that we will always stand ready to receive the promises of God. We refuse to be as the five virgins that gave up hope and failed in diligence to be ready to receive, as we read,

“And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them. Mathew 25:2, 3

These five were lacking oil in their lamps because they grew tired of waiting or maybe they just weren’t interested anymore, leaving them unprepared at the most critical time?

With this urging from our Lord, we shall be always ready, holy, and thankful on the day that our Lord appears to receive us to be with him in heaven.

The first step in being ready starts below:
