"I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels." Isaiah 61:10
IN JESUS TODAY!
All dressed up and ready to go! Let us be excited, filled with anticipation, and filled with joy! This is what the world is lacking and what they are searching for in us when they look to a Christian example! When the unbelieving world considers joy and the "Good Life" they typically turn to alcohol, drugs, sex, and the riches of this world, while joy and peace are not what they would consider first as, "The Good Life" And when they hear of Christian joy they can't understand this, because they find it impossible to have joy when asked to deny oneself of mood altering additives that the world offers, they can't understand the joy in taking up the cross and following Jesus, this is not joy and peace for them! Why? Mostly because they hear of all the complaints from the Christian examples that they see, complaints of how difficult the Christian walk is, complaints of how they live, suffering in poverty, and without many of the pleasures of the world, and complaints of how there is such a lack of unity among Christians themselves! Perhaps the possibility for them to have joy and peace as a Christian might be considered if many Christians would put on Christ, and the garments of praise! Imagine what they might think if they were to see many Christians coming together in love, having fun rejoicing together, and full of excitement over their Christian family, and the fellowship of joy that they share together, proclaiming how good it is for Christian brethren to dwell together in unity! The unbelieving world often stands ready to believe, but what do they hear, moaning and groaning? Complaints about other Christians and the Church? And complaints about how they lack? This are not the Christian clothing that we are to present to the world!
Let us examine our clothing and rejoice in all that Jesus gives to us! Let us serve him with gladness and sincerely present the gift of salvation that Jesus offers to this world! Let us love one another and forsake the bitter grumbling and complaining that turns the unbelieving world away from God for good!
