ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL!
"I EXHORT therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all those that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." 1Timothy 1, 2
IN JESUS TODAY!
To supplicate is to beg, to petition, or to beseech. Prayers are when we address an issue in conversation to God, and intercessions are conversations to mediate for another or to plead for God's favor on their behalf.
Notice all selfish thoughts are not included, this is about others and not our self.
Our leaders no matter what political party or what job they have while in the positions that they hold are appointed by God. He uses them to bring about his perfect will. Our responsibility is to stand in the gap for them. We may or may not like or agree with them, but are we taking their issues to God and asking that he will bless them with wisdom and His favor to lead and to make a difference? When we do this God promises that we will lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
We may be critical of our leaders, but are we doing all that we can do to help them lead?
Consider what is being said here, God places theses people in authority so that he can watch what we do. The book of Mathew tells us,
"Judge not lest we be judged." It is so easy to judge our leaders, but when we do, we are being judged!
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." Romans 13:1
Many are guilty, including myself, of being critical of our President and other leaders such as those in the Congress, but God tells us to pray for them and intercede on their behalf, so today let's all say a prayer for wisdom and strength to lead and make the right decisions for our Nation!
DEAR GOD GRANT TO US WISDOM!
