“And Elisha sent a messenger unto him saying, Go and wash into the Jordan seven times and thy flesh shall come again unto thee, and thou shalt be clean. 2Kings 5:10
IN JESUS TODAY:
Naaman, (the captain of the Syrian army), had Leprosy and desired to be healed, so he was instructed to journey to Samaria and there Elisha (the prophet of the Lord) would tell him what he needed to do to be healed. So God always wants the best for us, and is forever telling us what we need to do to receive our healing! Here Elisha instructs Naaman to go to the river Jordan and wash himself in it seven times. Throughout the history of life God has used many different ways to bring healing to others, for example when he healed the blind man by putting mud on his eyes,
“He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.” John 9:11
Or, the many times when he sent his word and healed them, as we read,
“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Psalm 107:20
TRUST AND OBEY…
All of these ways have similar ingredients, but they all require us to have faith in God, and they all require us to obey God when he gives to us instructions. Here Naaman was given instruction, but we find that after receiving instruction he hesitated to obey, because he didn’t have the faith required at first to overcome the idea that he would have to dip himself into dirty waters, let’s face it if we were to become a Leper today would we believe so easily that we could be healed simply by washing ourselves in dirty water, or if we were blind today would we be so ready to believe that someone could take some mud and spit on it and then place it on our eyes and we would see again?
We must believe and obey!
Even if we have a tiny seed of faith, and obey what God has said to us, we will certainly see his salvation, deliverance, and healing! This is God’s promise to us, as we read,
“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Mathew 17:20
With God nothing is impossible! God is able to do all that he has said!
