"Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to everyone grass in the field." Zechariah 10:1
IN JESUS TODAY!
The key here is, "Ask ye of the Lord" Only Jesus is able to form clouds and fill them with great bodies of water and then release them upon the land for his people to enjoy! Calling upon Idols is to labor in vain, it is to seek drinkable life giving waters from the Dead Sea, it is to draw blood from a turnip! There is no life in the Idols that people worship! As it reads, "As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God, but one." 1 Corinthians 8:4 Only Jesus is alive! We know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, as it reads, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 When we pray and ask, do we ask the gods that many have worshiped, to perform miracles? No, because they have no life, and therefore have no power, and so, quickly it is learned not to ask them to answer prayer! So why worship them, when they are unable to answer? For example, does an individual pray and ask their T.V. to answer their request? No, why? Because the T.V. cannot answer them, yet many people spend hours each day worshiping their television, and the people that they view on T.V. If then, only Jesus can answer our prayers, shouldn't he receive our love, worship, and devotion? Turning away from dead idols and turning to Jesus is what we read about here, and in doing so we will be blessed! God will pour out a flood of blessings into your life when your prayer focus is directed to Jesus! God is calling, and when the idols are forsaken, then God will visit his children with restoration and blessings. This is the regathering of his children. Jesus wants his children to stop wasting their time worshiping and praying to idols that have no power to bless them.
Jesus came to give to us life, and life more abundant, and many are continuously waiting for this, yet they are asking amiss, as it says in James, "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." James 4:3 We cannot expect that our prayers are answered when we pray to the powerless, and when we pray amiss asking for things that are not good for our soul. Jesus wants to hear your prayer, wants to bless you, and wants to answer your requests, when you come to him with the right reasons and right desires in your heart!
