"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let everyone of us please his neighbor for his good to edification." Romans 15:1, 2
IN JESUS TODAY!
Who is strong? We are, we who stand in faith with the hope of glory alive in our hearts. We are strong because Jesus enables us, whereby we can say, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 We are, we who can stand on the word of God as our foundation, who can quickly call upon a word fitly spoken such as, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that rises against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord." Isaiah 54:17 or, "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2Corinthians 12:9 We are strong by the grace of Jesus Christ and the power of his word. In other words, it is the power of Jesus that makes us strong! So who is strong? We who have the power of Jesus within us and resting upon us, and what are we supposed to do with this power? We are supposed to bear the infirmities of the weak. If we, who are strong, because we have this power and the knowledge of God's word, begin to use this to trample down the weak through judging them and condemning them, then we only please ourselves in an attempt to exalt ourselves above others. Then we are not seeking to please others and are not pleasing God, but on the other hand if we use our strength and knowledge to help the weak, to free the captive, and to heal the hurting, then we are pleasing God and others as we have read here, "Let everyone of us please his neighbor for hid good to edification."
Do not glory in yourself, but rather, as it is written, "If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities." 2Corinthians 11:30 Do everything to help those that are weak!
