COMFORT YE MY PEOPLE!
"Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins." Isaiah 40:1, 2
IN JESUS TODAY!
We live in a cruel and harsh world where a kind word is so nice to hear. The light and warmth that kindness adds to the heart is worth so much in these times. Hospitality and kindness has often surrendered to stress and the fast paced life that hardens our heart. "It's a dog eat dog world" "Each person for themselves" and the "survival of the fittest" are the thoughts that prevail. These are not what Jesus teaches though.
WHO WE ARE…
Jesus taught us that, "ye are the salt of the earth." Kindness and love is the savor wherewith the world is salted. Jesus said, that if the salt has lost its savor wherewith shall it be salted? Mathew 5:13 The salt of the world, the preservative if you will is salted with kindness and hospitality. Love and caring for our fellow person is what preserves the human race. Jesus calls on us to bring comfort to each other and to all that are coming out of warfare. It's a tough world and we all can use some kindness.
"And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?" James 2:16
There is a great reward to those that "Do", but nothing comes to those who talk only. Speak comfort and give comfort to the hurting.
BE DOERS OF THE WORD!
