"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Mathew 7:6
IN JESUS TODAY!
Should we always be so zealous to tell all to all people, or should we discern when and where it is wise to tell, and to whom? We are never to be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because it is his word that leadeth others unto salvation. In the world we must carry ourselves without shame, but with wisdom, as we read, "Behold I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." Mathew 10:16 Wise as serpents suggests discretion and discernment. Do we discern when what we do will be respected, or are we walking into a trap where what we do for Jesus will be trampled under foot by scoffers that seek to abuse Jesus even more than that which happened at the cross? There are some differences among us as to how Christians should witness, and when, and where, for example some believe that being bold, boldly proclaiming from the housetops, or in the workplace is the way to go, a sort of sounding of the trumpet you might say, while others are more reserve, and withhold from making such loud noises about their faith. I believe this is a matter of each individual, the situation at hand, and the ability to discern, and listen to the Holy Spirit!
Questions such as, Are we among wolves that seek to devour us, and will spit in the face of God, and will trample under foot the word's of Jesus? Will this sharing of Jesus be used to hurt us, or to help another? Should we observe the most appropriate place and time to share, or should we just abandon wisdom and go for it? Wisdom calls for reservation and stealth, that is not forsaking the sharing of Jesus, but rather redefining the ways in which he will be shared! Sometimes being loud is not as loud as the soft witness who uses discretion, and stealth to their advantage!
