"I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and a fear to my acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me. I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel." Psalm 31:11, 12
IN JESUS TODAY!
Here is depression. David was a bit more than down or mildly depressed, he was broken. Are you broken, full of grief? Are you powerless and in need, feeling forgotten and left to die? These feelings of depression often get brushed aside as though that person is out of their mind. It is easy to forget that we are in a spiritual war and in this war there is often many weapons devised against us. Our enemies stir up fears, suspicions, and false accusations that are unfounded in order to press against our witness and make it unbelievable. The attempt is to minimize our influence, destroy our reputation, and direct us into depression. Then the focus becomes about us and is removed from Jesus and soon we are a broken vessel, no longer witnessing and sharing the message about Jesus, but rather focused on our life and the "woe is me" of our situation! Turn your eyes upon Jesus! Look full into his wonderful ways! Fret not over evil doers, neither be thou envious against these workers of iniquity. Their way is known, it is known that they seek to destroy our influence for Jesus, and they will soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb, as it is written, "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and whither as the green herb." Psalm 37:1, 2
Friend, trust Jesus today and overcome these hardships by doing good for others and God will bless you! Our Brokenness Leads To Healing! When we are weak he is strong!
