"And when Boaz had eaten and drunk and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn; and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down." Ruth 3:7
IN JESUS TODAY!
Do we lay at the feet of the one we love? Do we rest at the feet of God or have we visited lately the foot of the cross? We cannot say that we love Jesus with mere words alone! Loving Jesus is faithfully drawing near to him, loving Jesus is resting our head in his bosom, and loving Jesus is coming to him softly and laying our life down at his feet! Forget about being perfect for a minute, and rather consider being faithful! No one is perfect, but we all can be faithful. These are actions of love and words of love without action are simply empty words. If we say, "I love Jesus, but I am so far from him!" It is not Jesus that is far from us, because Jesus has never left, he is always near, Jesus always stands waiting with open arms for us to call upon him and for us to draw near, when we do this, he is there and will draw near to us. We are far away from him, because we fail to cry out to him and not because he is far from us. If we truly love Jesus we will draw near to him! If we will draw near to him, he draws near to us, if we are far from from him it is because we have moved, and we keep him away by choice! Jesus loves you, and will always draw near to you if you will lay down your life at his feet! True love is action, and true love is found at his feet, and at the foot of his cross! The question is: Do you really love God? or Do you love more the evil that is available in this world? Is it true to say "I love God, but I am so far away from him?" Making little or no effort to draw near while he waits for you with open arms?
"Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah." Psalm 52:3 Now, who is it that can judge this? Only we can answer, but what do our words say? Do our actions say the same? Loving God is drawing near to him, and Jesus is waiting for you!
