"And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years. And Enoch walked with God and he was not; for God took him." Genesis 5:22-24
IN JESUS TODAY!
Faithful to God all his days! Enoch led a righteous life of faith in service to God. He was an ancestor of Jesus, Luke 3:37 and we see this character trait of faithfulness and loyalty throughout Enoch's lineage through Seth his father, Adam's son, and all the way down to Jesus, and of course Jesus was faithful and loyal to God his father, even unto his death upon the cross of crucifixion. "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head and gave up the ghost." John 19:30 The crucifixion of Jesus was the ultimate in faithfulness, as it is during the darkest hours of life that faithfulness is tested! Enoch was faithful to God all of his days, for three hundred and sixty five years he lived and walked with God, faithful to him every day. In today's world we seem to be losing this word and others. Words such as devout and faithful are seldom sought after and encouraged, being devout or faithful is simply staying the course! God is looking for people to stay the course, those who will make the choice to follow, listen to his voice, and those that will stay the course! God is looking for people who will be devout, those who will do the same thing every day, not wavering!
Jesus wants us to walk with him and to be his voice unto the world, faithfully preaching the word, as it is written, "The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully." Jeremiah 23:28a Let all of your days be faithful to the Lord, let all of your words be faithful to accomplish the work that it is sent unto! "Beloved, thou doest faithfully, whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers." 3John 1:5
