"As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into a house, and leaned his hand upon the wall, and a serpent bit him." Amos 5:19
IN JESUS TODAY!
Be careful what you ask for! Some were asking for the Day of The Lord to come, but were not prepared! Recently a person was seeking relief from their hardship in life, most of which was Self-imposed, they sought for relief and was hoping that the Day of The Lord comes, but if it were to come right now, they might be met with a very dark day! As it is written, "Shall not the Day of The Lord be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?" Amos 5:20 Do we sometimes ask for things having a false sense of security? When we ask for the Second Coming of Jesus, are we ready? or are we running from our problems, not willing to let go of our sinful lifestyles? "As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him."? We need to make sure that we are ready for this day, and that we are ready for what we ask, otherwise it will be a day that we are met with a bear or worse! Even when we pray the Lord's Prayer, we are asking the Kingdom of God to come, as it reads, "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Mathew 6:9, 10 When we ask Jesus to come and establish his kingdom, are we asking so that we can escape our problems? Have we confessed our sins and asked Jesus for forgiveness? Are we ready for what we ask? Jesus has given us all this time to prepare. It is written, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Without this cleansing we might be surprised! We might be met with this bear, or the snake that will bite, or far far worse! A dark day that no person wants. Let us prepare ourselves for the Day that Jesus will come, let us look to him with a loving heart and mind, knowing that our sins are forgiven, and we have been cleansed, and are waiting for Him to come!
