"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1John 1:9
IN JESUS TODAY!
The first part of cleaning anything or anyone is to realize what areas are priority. Disaster areas of coarse are where an emergency cleanup is required and our immediate attention should be placed, while other areas that simply need to be dusted are still important, but have much less of a priority. Still we must acknowledge that the condition exists. To say my house is clean and there is no need is to lie to God, to others, and to ourselves! We know that this is a lie, because we know that all of us fall short and that none of us are perfect, As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way." Romans 3:10-12a All of us sin, therefore All of us need to come clean, just because your secrets are not known unto the greater population it doesn't change that your house is dirty, just because God's grace has enabled you to do well, while others have suffered this doesn't change what is inside your house. We all need to come clean! Let us come clean, there is nothing hidden from God! The only thing that is hidden is that which is hidden from ourselves! We may choose to hide these sins from ourselves, because when we look so deeply into our lives, we see clearly our sins and realize we are not so good and all is not well. The first part of coming clean is to confess that your house, your heart is dirty before God and we need Jesus to clean it up! When we are willing to tell ourselves the truth and to go to God for forgiveness, God is willing to forgive us and to cleanse our house and our heart from all unrighteousness. We may have to go to him in confession many times in a day or a week, and so on, we may see one part of our house that needs cleaning and then another and again another! Regardless of how often, our sincerity and desire to be clean calls upon God's faithfulness to us and his promise to cleanse us.
Every time we confess to God and show him that we need his help, God is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us. Not just one time, but every time, and all times! When we fail to confess to God these truths, we are stating falsely, "Everything is good" or "We don't need you God!" then we are only telling ourselves a lie!
