"I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1, 2
IN JESUS TODAY!
Are we looking in the right places for help? I know the Bible tells us, "Ask and it shall be given unto you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you." Mathew 7:7 I know what it says here, but it's amazing how many people that don't understand what it means. Who should we ask? Where should we seek? Many are quoting this verse, asking, seeking, and knocking, but it's not God that they are asking, not God that they are seeking, and it's not the door to the kingdom of heaven that they are knocking on. They quote this scripture while they are asking gifts from other gods, pagans, or unbelievers, they are seeking advice from seers, soothsayers, and astrologers, and they continually knock at the doors of sinful adulterers that have no faith in God, these that are in bed with many nations, or companies, or the faithless in the world. In Philippians 4:6, 7 it tells us, "Let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Friends we can't ask just anyone or seek any other, we must ask and seek God! God is our helper, as it reads, "He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber." Psalm 121:3 We have to ask God, the one that has the power to hear our request and answer, if we don't ask him then we ask amiss, "Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss, to consume it upon your lusts." James 4:3 Look to Jesus to meet your needs!
