"Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?" Acts 7:48,49
IN JESUS TODAY!
Heaven is God's throne, as it is written, "But I say unto you swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:" Mathew 5:34 So we begin with God's throne, God's throne is not a chair placed on a stage before a crowd of people, God's throne is not a seat at the front of a bus that will drive us all to our desired location here on earth, but God's throne is exalted far above all that exists, it is a place of creation, at the front, on the top, and with a clear view of all that is. All can be seen, all is strategically orchestrated, and all is accessible from God's throne, and God is the only one that can sit on it. There is no throne that can accommodate God, save this throne created by God himself! Now we move to the earth, the earth is God's footstool, as it is written, "nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King." Mathew 5:35 The earth is God's footstool, not where he is seated, but rather where he stands, not where he is stationed, but rather where he rests his feet! He rests his feet on the earth, as his footstool, while his commands orchestrate all movement throughout the earth. The earth is his footstool and how beautiful are his feet, as it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things?" Romans 10:5b Now after Jesus walked the earth preaching peace and good tidings, how appropriate is it that he should now sit in heaven (his throne), and rest his feet on the earth (his footstool)?
Jesus rules and reigns as King of all heaven and earth. So beautiful is this picture and how blessed we are to have a King so loving and caring that keeps us close to him for eternity! Jesus dwells in the temple made by God, even Heaven!
