"Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour." Acts 3:1
IN JESUS TODAY!
(TWO)gether, it's amazing what we can take for granted while it is here. The company that we have while in fellowship with others, needs that we step back and take a moment of silence to absorb the importance of that friend(s) or family member(s) that is in company with us. While there is literally billions of people on this planet, of those billions there are many that are living in loneliness, having no company to share their days with at all. Of course we can always say thank God for Jesus because he is our spiritual friend that takes away our loneliness, but how good is it to have the company of others to share our life with and to partake in their life as well! As it is written,
"Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Psalm 133:1
Loneliness is a terrible tragedy! Consider how many are living their lives alone today, the elderly whose children are busy working to survive, the single or divorced that are hurting inside, the homeless or those that are living in shame, the depressed or addicted hiding their name, all of these could use a friend, and what better way to spend your day than to make a difference in a lonely person's life. As a proven act of love, consider befriending others and asking them if they would like you to pray with them. You'll be surprised how many will say yes!
WHAT CAN WE DO… ?
Consider finding the lonely and going to them even if it is just to lend an ear for an hour of your day. Oh, you'll be amazed at their life stories and they will love you as their own because you gave your time to them. This is mercy and love. Jesus calls us to share with others while they are still here with us.
Are you a member of a church, a family, a social group?
Volunteer to give an hour this week towards someone that is not a member, someone that is put away and forgotten, or someone that is having a hard time and could use your prayer. Share your time (two)gether.
TOGETHER WE SHALL GO UP!
