“Be ye therefore followers of God as dear children: And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.” Ephesians 5:1, 2
IN JESUS TODAY:
Love that is alive, or better stated “Christian Love” is meant to be shared with all peoples, not harboring resistance based upon race or religion, gender or culture, nor respect of any persons. We are called to share what Jesus shared with us to all people. This is following God as dear children, and it is unavoidable! One cannot say that they love God and decide not to share the love of God to another. That means, as imitators of God, since God forgives us, we must forgive them, since God loves us, we must love them, since God trains us, we must train them, and so on.
ONLY JESUS LIVING IN US CAN DO IT…
God is holy, and we are called to be holy as He is holy, as we read,
“Because it is written, Be ye holy for I am holy.” 1Peter 1:16
We are called to be merciful as He is merciful, to be perfect as He is perfect, and so on. To do this we must first realize that we are broken, and that only Jesus who lives in us can do these things, we need Jesus to accomplish any of these. Living love means our love is alive, and we cannot be alive with love, without Jesus living in us! This is Living Love! Our love is alive and active, because Jesus is alive in us! Just as children resemble their parents, we also must resemble our Father in heaven by walking in love towards all people. Now the counterfeit to this is adultery, fornication, covetous behavior, and uncleanness for which no man can enter into heaven. True Christians are living lives of Real Love, Living Love. If you don’t love others then you don’t love God, as we read,
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” 1 John 4:7, 8
It is Jesus in us that enables us to love, there are times that we may not feel willing, that we just can’t seem to love them, for whatever reason. In these times we need to call on Jesus to help us, and remember that he will strengthen us in the inner man to overcome our difficulty, as we read,
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man.” Ephesians 3:16
WE CANNOT DO IT ALONE! ALWAYS THROUGH JESUS WE CAN!
