"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." John 14:1 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." Proverbs 17:22
IN JESUS TODAY!
In life there is a lot of things that can cut deep into the heart, hurtful, troubling things! Jesus knows this and he knows how damaging this can be, many times leading to heart disease, strokes, heart attacks, broken hearts, and death! This is why Jesus encourages us to not worry, and not to let life trouble us. As we read, "Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?" Mathew 6:27 In other words, what good will your worry do? Will it fix the problems? or will it change your situations for the better? These things should be simply laid at the feet of Jesus because only he can change them! To change things we must begin with how we think! We must have full concentration on what matters in life and on who can make things better, and there is only one, Jesus! Only Jesus can heal our heart, only Jesus can take away our fears, and only Jesus can fix the things that we worry about! Jesus is the "who and what" that matters, and when we go to him he calms our soul, as we read, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world giveth you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27 If Jesus brings to us peace then why should we trade it for worry? We should not! Only when other things get into our heart and try to push the peace of Jesus out do we have these fears and worries! It is up to us to push back against these things and put them out of our hearts and minds so that the peace of God will remain within us. Allow only Jesus to dwell within, as it is written, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye being rooted and grounded in love, "Ephesians 3:17 Things that trouble us, only trouble us because we let them dwell in our hearts when only Jesus is supposed to be dwelling there! Jesus, his words, and his love.
Put the troubles and cares of this world out today, give them the eviction notice, and let Jesus move back in! Let a new song of hope rise up in your heart today, as we read, "Speaking to yourselves in Psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord." Ephesians 5:19
