"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." Ephesians 6:18
IN JESUS TODAY!
Watching and praying is how we will persevere, these two go fitly together and cannot be separate if we desire to persevere. Shall we persevere without prayer unto God? or shall we persevere without watching for him to come? It is impossible to persevere in the times to come without these two. These two are most important, as it is written, "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Mathew 26:41 How important is it that we escape temptation? We cannot expect to endure if we should let down our guard and simply surrender to the ways of this world! We cannot compromise our faith, and without prayer we stand alone in this battle, for it is our prayers unto God that will make our request for his grace known unto him. He is our help, as it is written, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1 For this cause we pray unto God and maintain an open line of communication, he will rescue and save any who call upon him, as we read, "In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge is in God." Psalm 62:7 Now it is also upon us that we not only pray for ourselves, but for all saints. That we should all persevere, and that none should be lost! When we are also concerned for those that God loves then our prayers will be heard and answered, and when all of us are doing this same thing in praying for each other, we can know that others are praying for us too!
In this way we will carry each other through tough times and together we shall persevere! Perseverance is not designed for the lone saint, but rather for all saints together. Through the grace of God and by watching and praying we shall all see Jesus!
