"Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer; that goeth not out of feigned lips." Psalm 17:1
IN JESUS TODAY!
Hear the right O Lord! What is right? Who is right? How can we know? Well, everyone wants God to hear the right, but of course not everyone is right. Just by going to God and asking him to hear the right doesn't make us more right than another, it is simply asking God to look into our lives and see if we are doing right, at which time he might show us that we are in error and need to correct things, but if we are found to be right, this line of petition is also asking for God to defend us, to speak up for us, and to vindicate us against wrong. This doing right doesn't start with our own right or what seems to be right to us, he will measure what is right by holding our actions up to the truth of his word. As we read, "There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12 The right way is Jesus, as it written, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but but me." John 14:6 It is God's right that we should be living by so that when we expect God to hear the right, he will see and hear his words in action in our life. God will expose all things to his word in order to judge who and what is right, our pleadings, no matter how passionate they are, will not avoid this examination. Jesus desires truth, and his truth only, will make our request to be heard and acted upon. There is a right, that is man's right which seems to be right, and there is right, which is God's right, which is absolutely right! Which right are you living by? Right or Really right? Hear the right, O Lord, is for God to hear us because we have made Jesus our right, his truth is in us.
When we live by all that Jesus teaches us then we are right, then we can boldly ask God to hear the right with the assurance that it is not our right, but his right that we are living in!
