"Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand." Romans 14:4
IN JESUS TODAY!
Just when you think its over! Just when you might think, "Game Over" be careful not to pass judgment too soon! How dare we? Do we take God's ability to keep one unto the end for granted, forgetting that God can cause them to prevail? Jesus teaches us not to judge for this very reason, as it is written, "Judge not, that ye be not judged" Mathew 7:1 This verse rightly asks the question, "Who art thou that judgest?" Sometimes we forget where we came from and we begin to look down on others as thou we were never there, we forget what our frame is, that we are made of the dust of the earth, and we forget who is in charge! If we say to one, "How dare you do that!" Who are we to judge another person? How dare we say, "How dare you!" With this we only bring judgement on ourselves. When we judge, when we take the Masters role, and when we remove his offer of grace from anyone, then we are forgetting the offer of grace toward us! Only God can make us stand, we all need him, we all need his grace to stand. When God is removed, by one who says there is no help for him in God, and when his offer of grace is distributed only when someone seems worthy, then we need to ask, "Who art thou that takes this away from another?"
As we love Jesus, we ought to fear him in this that God may get angry because pride exalts us beyond mercy and compassion for another. As God is able to cause Nineveh to repent, so is he able to make one stand when others around stand waiting for his demise!
