"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16
IN JESUS TODAY!
Availeth much what? The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person availeth much power, much healing, much love, much results, much fruit, you name it, and if it is good and of God, when we pray to him with passion, it availeth much! It is just the opposite to complaining, when we constantly complain, constantly judge, or put all of our energies into doubtful, faithless, and judgmental conversations with God, we will get nothing! If we expect good results for our passion, or fervent conversations with God about healing, love, and forgiveness, they must be void of negative things, words that are full of doubt, fear, judgment, and the like. It is with prayer, not just any prayer, but with passionate prayers that reveal our heart about another, that will allow us to see God's power at work! God has immense power to forgive, but we must confess our faults, as it is written, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 When we confess our faults one to another, those who receive this confession ought to operate the same way, if we receive a confession we must understand that the person that confesses a fault has entrusted us to forgive them and to help them to become clean. We owe it to God and to the other person to forgive them, just as God has forgiven us of our sins! We cannot use the confession of another as an opportunity to accuse them or to make fun. Remember we are being trusted to help them. Let us forgive them, lest our sins be not forgiven. Then let us pray one for another.
The reason a person often confesses a fault is that we might pray for them, it is their way of asking for help, and we have been put in position and given the power to help them through prayer. In these times we show God how we care with passion and fervency for others, and it opens the door for our witness to win their soul to the Lord!
PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER!
