"Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me." Psalm 71:2
IN JESUS TODAY!
Is this the me, me, me, it's all about me part of the Bible? Here we find the prayer of an aged man, and it seems that focus of his life is all about himself, his fears, his troubles, and his needs, but is this wrong? Should we expect these things from a loving God? First this is not wrong if our heart is right, we can expect these things if we love God, as it is written, "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name." Psalm 91:14 We see by this that if our heart is right for God and the ways of God, we are not wrong to expect from him, because this is his word, his promise to us! We shouldn't feel guilty for asking or expecting from God those things which he has promised. Deliver me, cause me to escape, hear my cry when I call to you, and save me! These are but expectations or promises that are guaranteed to those whose heart is one with the Lord, but if one should turn away from him, if one should laugh or scoff at those that he loves for loving him, there is no help for them, as it is written, "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted of the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, I they should fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing that they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." Hebrews 6:4-6 God will deliver those that serve him, God will cause them to escape that love him, God will hear them from on high whose mind and heart is stayed on him, and God will save them from those who seek to do them harm, as it is written, " If my children, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
Don't worry about those that are against God and you, call on God today and expect a great escape!
