"Beware of Dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." Philippians 3:2, 3
IN JESUS TODAY!
How nice it would be, that we could live in a world without evil in it! One day we will be in such a world, heaven, where no evil is, but until that day we need to beware. As part of the circumcision, or that which has been set apart, we need to understand that there are those that do not worship God in the spirit, and are the concision that would seek to do us harm, because we are no longer a part of them, or because we no longer agree to do what they do. We cannot assume that, because we are nice to everyone around us, because we love others around us, and because we love Jesus, that we will receive a similar treatment, and that everyone else will behave the same way towards us! Not everyone will love Jesus, not everyone is nice, and not everyone will love us! I remember years ago hearing of a book called, "Downing The Duck" and how it made reference to a carnival game, where the ducks floating on a stream of water were lined up as targets for the participant to shoot as and attempt to win a prize! Of course these ducks were the victims in this game. As Christians we are often the targets of evil workers, one could say that we are the ducks of the world's carnival, and often we will experience these fiery darts from the wicked that sail toward us, as we read, "Above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." Ephesians 6:16 With this shield of faith we need not fear, because God has our back! As we read, No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that rises against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." Isaiah 54:17
So we must be sober and vigilant, as it is written, "But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer." 1 Peter 4:7 This is not an imaginary thing, this spiritual war is active and is happening everyday! God has his servants, but so does the enemy, as we read, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill,, and to destroy." John 10:10a Let us be alert, not wearing rose covered glasses in this world that we live in, as we wait for Jesus to return!
