"Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving; let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4: 6, 7
IN JESUS TODAY!
For a long time I have thought that waiting was a terrible thing, I hated waiting on God for things that I knew he could do now, and so many times instead of waiting I hurried through life, making it happen my own way, but as life continued on and as I grew older, by God's grace I began to get wisdom about this and began to experience God's perfect peace in the waiting! Never before did I think that it was possible to have peace while waiting for the hopes and the desires that I was asking from God and looking for him to fulfill, let's face it, our God is able, and because he is able and we live in a I want it now environment, I figured now is the best time, and waiting was a horrible inconvenience that as God's son I should not have to suffer! But because I did not wait, suffer is what I did! Now since God never wants us to suffer we can ask him to help us to wait. There is no greater thing when waiting, than to have God's peace and to spend this time in praise and worship to him. To alleviate the inconvenience of waiting this time of worship and praise makes the time needed to go by in a much greater speed, and with so much peace. How much better does it sound to say I am worshiping God than I am waiting on God? Friend your desires are already known and in his care, now if we grumble in the waiting, the waiting is terrible, but if we worship him in the waiting, the waiting is sweet! Once we make known our request unto God, as we have read here, it is also written, "These things I have spoken unto you, that ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33
In him we have peace, but when we are anxious and desire the world and forget to worship God, we will have trouble! Waiting on Jesus can be easy if we worship while we wait!
