"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young." Isaiah 40:11
HOPE FOR TODAY! There are four works included in this scripture that Jesus does, they are: feed, gather, carry, and lead. Let's talk about the third one today, which reads "and carry them in his bosom,"
In American Football a running back is trained to carry the ball in such a way that it is secure and cannot be stolen or dropped from his arms. He places two arms around the ball and pulls it into his bosom. When he carries the ball like this his opponent can't steal it from his grasp. Jesus carries us like this, close to his bosom so that we can't be stolen from him, we can't be dropped, and we can't run away from him when he maintains this grasp upon us. A mother dog or cat carries their baby clenched in their jaw, a business man or woman carries their work in a brief case at their side, and a woman carries her purse hanging from her shoulder. These ways are not so secure and can easily be dropped or stolen.
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
JESUS HOLDS US SECURE IN HIS GRASP! WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED!
