INSPECTING YOUR HELMET OF SALVATION!
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
HOPE FOR TODAY:
Is it a method of control that Paul uses here to manipulate our minds, by telling us how to think and what not to and what we ought to think about, or is it that Paul is simply recognizing that there is a war, a battle if you will, for our minds? Isn’t he simply saying watch that the enemy doesn’t come in invade our minds with thoughts of this worlds ways and ideas that are in place to lead us into destruction and shame?
The world’s ways and the enemy’s ideas are contrary to God’s beneficial words of life and there is a daily battle to replace God with what is not good for us!
DEPRESSION, DISCOURAGEMENT, DELAY, DISSAPOINTMENT, AND DISCOMFORT…
These DEADLY “D’s” if you will, are in the “D”evil’s arsenal of destruction, meant to harm us and to get into any crack that might show itself as an opening in our Helmet of Salvation that we are continuously instructed to wear, from the book of Ephesians, as we read,
“Wherefore take unto you the whole Armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand, Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6:12-16
“Take the helmet of Salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

Woe that is a deep series of questions, but in light of all who are seeking treatment and even escape from their troubles today by way of medications, treatment centers, addictions, illegal drugs, and more, we must consider that what Paul is telling us is a better way out, and a sure way of protection against the deadly ways of our enemy.
