WE SHALL BE THE ONE!
"And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan." Luke 17:15, 16
HOPE FOR TODAY!
And then there was one! At the beginning there was ten that was healed, ten that had their life change, ten lepers that were cleansed from the worst disease of that time, but only one returned to give thanks! Was it entitlement? Did the other nine just automatically think that they were entitled to a healing, as though Jesus owed them? Didn't these nine see the one turn back and give thanks?
"And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger." Luke 17:17, 18
How many know that there are those that have a sense of entitlement, thinking that they are owed the blessings of life? Not to carry a cross, not to do any works of faith, and they even come against Christians in opposition, these still believe that they deserve things from God!
HOW WILL IT BE… ?
In the last days how will it be?
"For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy."1Timothy 3:2
Un-thankfulness is a sin! Let us give God thanks. No one is entitled to anything in life. None have been given a ticket of entitlement. We all had a sin debt in which Jesus paid by shedding his blood on the cross, and to receive from Jesus without giving thanks should cause us great distress!
Jesus is worthy of all thanks, all glory, all honor, and all praise, as we read,
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
We must remember that the wages of our sin is death, in other words what we are owed is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. It is a gift and not an entitlement! Let us each day give God thanks for this gift!
THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE!
