“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved, and to come into the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3, 4
AS MEN OF HONOR:
What is God’s will for mankind? Many of us have heard and do understand how Jesus came to seek and to save the lost, as we read,
“For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which is lost.” Luke 19:10
This is the main purpose or goal that Jesus came to accomplish, and we also have taken up His purpose and goal, and we also have made it ours so that we strive to win the lost to Jesus, but there is here another part to this, as we read,
“And to come into the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4
This coming into the knowledge of God’s truth is very important, many have long understood that winning souls will make the world a different place, and say often, “If they could only come to Jesus and be saved then all else will be corrected.” This is true, and this is where it would start to be corrected, but there is more, men must come into the knowledge of God’s truth, and this is why we are encouraged to study to show ourselves approved, as we read,
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
It is necessary that all come into the knowledge of God’s truth, this is more than simply reciting the Sinners Prayer, or going down the Roans Road of Salvation, we must go beyond, as Christ has laid the foundation, we must build upon His foundation of Salvation.
THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR ALL…
“I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.” 1 Corinthians 3:10
It is God’s Will for us all that we build on the foundation that he has laid, and this foundation is His free gift of salvation to us, and what we build upon it is the truth that we learn in God’s word, so approved is a lifetime of study, a denial of self, and a taking up of our cross, all are necessary, and thereby we become His Disciples. This will lead us into the full truth of God’s Will for our lives!
God’s Will is not a secret meant to be hidden from us, but rather a glaring truth to be accepted by us! We should not fear to find it, but instead we should be brave and embrace it, and realize that God’s Will is not lost so that we should search for it, it is evident before us, it is God’s truth that we must receive. Not to run from it, not to fear it, but to receive it, honor it, and hold His truths to be self-evident in our lives!
1. God has a will for your life
2. He wants you to know what it is
3. He has placed it in the most obvious place! His Holy Word! His Words of Truth, His Love letter to us, The Holy Bible! Pick it up, read it, meditate on its truths, and hold them near!
This is God’s Will!
