MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD!
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:7
AS MEN OF HONOR:
Certainly God is in control. This trial that is spoken of is a testing of our faith to determine its worth, and as with any trial to find weather or not it is fit for duty. Will it pass the test? For the righteous who endure this testing, trials are for a short time, and then they pass. It must be so. These testing’s actually improve us. They work in us a faith in God that is beyond worldly value, in fact in heaven before Jesus, we set before him a precious metal that is of the highest value that exists. Our tried and tested faith that has been proven by fire! This faith has made it to the end by design and by the passing of many tests, as we read,
“Who were kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time: Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations.” 1 Peter 1:5, 6
Through testing we develop confidence, without this we will nervously walk through life full of fear and worry of what will greet us around the next corner, but with confidence in God we trust that no matter what comes at us we will prevail through Christ Jesus. Confidence is the result of passing through trials.
NO SUFFERING IS NICE WHILE WE ARE ITS PARTICIPANTS…
With this idea that suffering is not nice, who then will raise their hand to volunteer? Are you willing to run to this event with rejoicing? Actually not! Like most we do not desire to suffer and therefore are not willing to volunteer for this, but Jesus knowing how important this is to our faith and to our confidence allows us for short times to enter into trials and will quickly deliver us after we are convinced of God’s ability to rescue us from all temptation. What will ever separate us from the love of God? NOTHING! Our faith tested and tried, proven precious before God, will always grab hold of the hand of Jesus and be saved, as we read,
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:35-37
Our faith in God will prevail! Our faith in God will bring us through as mighty conquerors! More precious than gold, REAL CHRISTIANS! Rejoicing that we are found worthy to suffer for his name!
MORE PRECIOUS THAN ANY OTHER OFFERING IS OUR FAITH!
