AND THE REASON IS YOU!
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30
So how do we win the lost to Christ? Certainly there are many approaches to this ranging from the quiet witness to a witness who boldly and loudly proclaims the Gospel by sounding their trumpet. Both, in their own way, may be effectively used by God, however the main point is that our faith must be an active one. The book of James from the New Testament tells us,
“What does it profit my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? If a brother or a sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit? Even faith, if it hath not works, is dead being alone.” James 2:14-17
Faith is dead without works! So we must let our works help them through, this being the most effective witness to the world.
Imagine Jesus, who was already in heaven looking down at us pondering if he should come and save us, and now imagine if he only wished us well instead of actually coming to save us! Now remember our Jesus who then stepped down from heaven, as we know that he descended and later ascended, remember that he was already there in heaven before he descended or came down.
Ok so let us continue, now we must ask the questions, why, and for what reason, or for whom did he leave the awesome beauty of heaven? What possible reason would there be that anyone would ever leave such a peaceful and love filled place such as heaven?
Jesus had it made in heaven with his father, no troubles, no worries, no temptations, he had it made as some might say! Yet there was something missing, and that something or someone was you and I. For all of us, Jesus left heaven, and he left there so that we would be able to join him one day!
Jesus has since ascended and returned to heaven after paying a price for our sins so that we could one time go where he is. Now we seek to go, but often we forget that Jesus put all of heaven on hold while he came here to make a way for us to join him. This burden on the heart of Jesus was because of our absence, our pain, our suffering, and our lost condition, and Jesus thought more of us than he thought for his own life!
Jesus came down from the comfort of heaven to live in the pain and suffering of this earth, to be beaten and smitten. Oh, in heaven he was accepted, on earth he was rejected! So why give this up? The reason is you! The reason that Jesus left heaven was for you and I, and many others. He had a mission on his heart and a burden upon his soul, as we read,
“For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which is lost.” Luke 19:10
In heaven Jesus was exalted by his Father, on his he was bruised, as we read,
“Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.” Isaiah 54:10
And it pleased the Lord to bruise him!
And the reason is you and me and many others!
Jesus left heaven, where in the beginning he was with his Father, God the Father, and with the Holy Spirit, and we find that he was content to be a part of all creation, having fulfilled all that God spoke into existence, when God said,
“Let there be…” For all things that were created, Jesus was there, both the Holy Spirit and Jesus was there.
