TO ABBIE: THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT QUESTION: REGARDING WHETHER IT IS RIGHT TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME IN PRAYER WHEN THERE IS SO MUCH THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. IS THIS RIGHT TO SIT AT JESUS FEET FOR A TIME KNOWING THAT THERE IS SO MUCH WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED? SHOULD WE NOT FINISH THESE TASKS FIRST? DEAR ABBIE MANY HAVE QUESTIONED THIS ALSO, HERE IS THE ANSWER, WHILE WE TAKE THE TIME TO BE WITH JESUS HE IS BUSY REDEEMING OUR TIME AND GIVING TO US WISDOM THAT WILL ENABLE US TO COMPLETE ALL THESE TASKS ACCORDING TO HIS TIME. WE GAIN FAVOR FROM THE LORD AND WISDOM TO ORGANISE WHERE WE MAY HAVE BEEN CONFUSED OR LACKING THE PROPER DIRECTION TO BE PROFICIENT IN COMPLETING ALL THAT IS AT HAND.
TIME SPENT WITH JESUS IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CARES OF THIS WORLD!
38 “Now it came to pass as they went that he entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was encumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? BID HER THEREFORE THAT SHE HELP ME! 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42
