HAVE YOU LOST YOUR VOICE?
“But as one was felling a beam, the Axe head fell into the water: And he cried, and said, Alas Master! For it was borrowed.” 2Kings 6:5
AT HIS TABLE:
Here we see that some of the prophet’s sons desired to move out onto their own and begin a life in a different land, sort of like our children growing up and after graduation from High School beginning their own journey in life. So they began to go their own way and was starting the building process, but as they built their homes, the tool that they were using broke and lost its ability to be useful, which brings me to this question;
Have you been telling your story to others about how Jesus has saved you, and all that he has done for you, but suddenly it seems that no one cares, and your testimony of faith has lost its power? Have no fear, God’s help is here!
THE WORK MUST GO ON…
So now you might think that these sons could build no more, since the tool that they were using did break, and the head had fallen into the water, but that my friend is not the end! God is faithful, as we read,
“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” Romans 11:29
“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.” Isaiah 58:12
Have you been building, but it seems that you have lost your sharp edge? God will restore!
In this case Elisha simply took the axe handle and cast it into the water, back into God’s word it went, and suddenly the axe head began to float and was joined together with its handle allowing them to continue to build again!
If this is your story then I encourage you to simply cast yourself back into God’s water (His word), and allow his words to begin to repair all that has become broken. God is faithful and will complete all that he has started in you!
