LET US BE UNITED!
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. Romans 16:17
AT HIS TABLE:
So now I ask you in a serious manner, this is what Paul is saying when he says, “Now I beseech you”, here he knows how serious this matter can be, how dangerous division is in the church, and how much he loves his fellow Christians. He warns us to mark them that divide so that we are protected against those who desire to separate the church for their own purposes. For love’s sake he warns us to avoid them. God wants what is best for us, because he loves us as dear children, and He is always watching over us, giving us instructions that will keep us in his perfect peace, as we read,
“That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” Ephesians 6:3
Let us be united, so much more is accomplished together rather than apart, “Together we can” apart we cannot! God warns us that divisions will come, as we read,
“Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! for it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh! Mathew 18:7
There will always be those that strive to divide us and many will not even realize that they are being used by other principalities and powers to divide, they are simply blinded to this by selfish ambition, and a lack of love for the bigger picture, the Christian family!
WHERE DO THEY WHO DIVIDE, HIDE...?
“The church, the bride, and the great divide!” This would be a novel title that they might find themselves as the main character! Or “How to disrupt God’s plan of family within the church!” Paul pleads with us, for love’s sake, let us be sober about what can happen here, and deny ourselves for the sake of the greater good of the others that we love! Always bearing within us the mission statement, “Together We Can!” and avoid all others that choose to gossip, to take a stand of separation, who choose to not love, because of Dogma and Deception!
Winston Churchill once said, “Success is not final, and failure is not fatal.” However I believe that Paul would add to this, “But division amongst us is devastating!”
Those who will put their own pride, their own ambition, and their own desire for attention ahead of others do not walk in love, they are deceiving themselves, not understanding what they do. Yes we must forgive them, as Jesus has forgiven us all, but we also must avoid any who divide us.
TOGETHER WE CAN!
