MY BROTHER’S KEEPER!
"And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?" Genesis 4:9
AT HIS TABLE:
Unfortunately there seems to be a growing sentiment amongst Pastors, Priests, Preachers, Teachers, Bishops, and the like, who hold an office as a leader in the church, and who have the opinion that they no longer have to go to the hurting, but rather, they hold that the hurting should come to them. An open rebuke is deserving when this is apparent. Don't get me wrong, I am all for Pastor appreciation days and similar events that convey appreciation for the care of God's children, but many today are those that Jesus is angry with, because they have stolen the page out of Luke ten where the Priest and the Levite passed on by when the man fell amongst thieves.
FOR ALL OF US TO CARE…
People are hurting! I can hear them say, "I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?" Jesus does not appreciate this behavior! Ezekiel 34 is a strong rebuke for those that commit such uncompassionate atrocities.
"My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them." Ezekiel 34:6
Are you in a position of leadership, the buck starts here, Jesus is not happy that leaders are passing by on the other side! We are our brother's keeper!
"As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, NEITHER DID MY SHEPHERDS SEARCH FOR MY FLOCK, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock; Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand." Ezekiel 34:9,10a
NOTICE GOD’S HURT, AND HIS HEART, THIS IS HOW WE ARE TO BE!
SEARCH FOR GOD’S FLOCK SO THAT THEY ARE NOT PREY!
