Let’s say that again! God has a plan for your life! God had a plan for the world and Abraham was right there in the world’s plan!
If Abraham had not obeyed God, if Abraham had not surrendered to God’s plan then the world as we know it would not be the same. It is through Abraham that the world became populated. “Unto thy seed will I give this land.”
Again, that was the plan for the population of the whole earth!
What seemed to be a ridiculous and possibly destructive and highly risky plan was in fact the beginning of the population of all mankind that exists today!
This is why we obey, because the one who we obey has the plan!
God holds the plans for your future, so do you think it wise to obey and follow his orders?
Obedience is better than sacrifice because obedience follows
God’s plan, while anything less than obedience ignores it.
Don’t ignore God’s plan for your life, and then ask, how can I be successful? Without obedience we can’t!
When the Lord said unto Abraham get thee out, Abraham went!
“Now the Lord said unto Abram, Get thee out of the country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee.” Genesis 12:1
Out of the country, away from any other source of dependency, and totally surrendered to faith in God.
Acknowledge that God has a plan for you, acknowledge that His plan is greater than yours, and acknowledge that you need Him.
Choose no other.
Listen to no other.
Obey no other.
"By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went." Hebrews 11:8
This is a very interesting scripture because it leads us to presume that if we act in faith God will lead us to where he wants us to go! Is this foolishness? Foolishness is not obeying God! Abraham was told to do something and although he did not know the plan and all of the details, he obeyed God. We will not always know the plan, we will not always be told the details, and we will have to deal with the fears of not knowing if we are going to obey God.
It's ok to have questions, but always go to God for the answer!
