"And when He had sent the multitude away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray." Mathew 14:23
OUR CHALLENGE TODAY!
Yesterday's question "How do you know if you have heard from God?" needs that we continue considering a few things. We have talked about having counsel from the mouth of two or three witnesses, but today I'd like to mention... the first person that we need to ask counsel of, and that is God, we start with Him and in order to hear from Him we must separate ourselves from distraction. Disturbances and distractions are meant to change our focus and if we allow them a place in our times of prayer, then what God tells us is often muddled and unclear. Jesus shows us what we must do. We MUST come apart from the multitudes and be alone with God so that we can hear Him. The reason why Mathew 6:6 tells us to enter into our closet to pray is so that we can get away from all distractions. Separate yourself unto the Lord today!
“But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4
