THE BED OF LANGUISH MEETS THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT!
“The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make his bed in all sickness.” Psalm 41:3
AT HIS TABLE:
What can be gained in our grief? Grief or grieving is not a time that we talk about often, yet it happens to us all for a variety of reasons in life, usually it is reserved for a time of loss of a loved one, but to languish or to grieve is such an emotional event that we can experience over many things in life. In the Bible we can see Jesus with similar times, as we read,
“When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord come and see. Jesus wept. John 11:33-35
“Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death, remain here, and watch with me. And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, My Father if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” Mathew 26:38, 39
MEET THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT…
So we can see that the Bed of Languish is not a new thing even unto God’s own Son, as we witness here that Jesus languished, but we also read here in Psalms 41 that despite our sorrow and grief we can be strengthened through it all! Jesus will strengthen us even in these times of peril and sorrow, when all seems to be lost, and we are completely filled with sorrow, Jesus tells us to take comfort in Him, as it is written,
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
GOD IS FOR YOU! HE WILL COMFORT YOUR SOUL!
