" For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer." Psalm 109:4
OUR CHALLENGE TODAY!
Sometimes life brings to us things that we cannot understand, such as why when we love others, we can have haters who despise us for doing good! Often this can cause us to respond inappropriately. Here we find the same for King David, he was doing good unto King Saul, but was chased and hated for this good. What did he do in response? He gave himself unto prayer, and no, his prayer was not a prayer of hate. It is easy to say to God, "Get them God" "Make them pay!" Vengeance is mine saith the Lord, not ours. That means our prayers should not be full of vengeance! There are 4 things that we should look at to be certain that our heart is not reacting in haste. "He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly." Proverbs 14:29 These 4 things are: are we loving?, have we given ourselves to prayer?, are we seeking to do good?, and are we asking for a blessing for them? David refused to hurt King Saul, although Saul sought to do him harm. Are we loving our enemies today?
“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven.”
