“And when you pray do not be as the hypocrites are for they
love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of
the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you,
they have their reward, but when you pray, enter into thy closet
and when thou hast shut thy door pray to thy Father which is in
secret and thy Father which sees you in secret shall reward thee
openly, but when ye pray use not vain repetitions as the
heathens do, for they think that they shall be heard for their
much speaking, be not ye therefore like unto them for your
Father knows what things ye have need of before you ask Him.”
Why is it that we need to pray in a certain way? Jesus tells us how to pray because He wants us to pray correctly from the heart, effective prayers, not repetitive, but rather to the point!
Just because one prays the same thing over and over again doesn’t mean that they will get what they want because of the repeated prayers. Instead of our ineffective prayers, Jesus gives us a prayer that effectively covers everything that we need.
“After this manner therefore pray ye… Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for yours is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory forever.”
When praying this prayer we have said: We want His Kingdom not this world, His will and not ours, His word Our Daily Bread, which includes a daily portion of Jesus, since He is the Bread of Life, we request that He forgives us our sin and we acknowledge that we will forgive those that sin against us, we request God lead us and surrender all leadership to Him, we ask that God delivers us from all evil that tries to hinder us in our life, and in short we are stating that we no longer seek to live our life our own way, but instead choose to do all things his way.
We have said!
This is not a recital, but a sincere request unto God. It is a surrender of our life to God, placing our full trust in Him. By praying this prayer we acknowledge God’s supremacy, His sovereignty, and His care for us.
“Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.” The words we say bring life or death. The prayers that we say and how we say them are very important to God. It is, a surrender of your life to God, placing your full trust in Him, by praying this prayer we acknowledge His supremacy, His sovereignty, and His ability to provide.
“Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done!”
The words we say and how they are believed in our heart bring life or death We see God’s words put into action to create life in the beginning.
Genesis Chapter One
All through this chapter we read how God spoke and the heavens and the earth and all that lives was created, created by spoken words!
There was a man in the New Testament that realized just how powerful God’s spoken word can be. Let’s read about it.
“The Centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof, but speak the Word only, and my servant will be healed.”
The great faith of a roman centurion is seen here when a centurion seeks Jesus to come and heal his servant, Jesus says in verse 10: " Verily, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in all Israel. Vs. 13 Jesus says: go thy way; and as thou hast believed so be it done unto thee."
The words that the centurion said were mixed with the real, true belief that Jesus was able to speak the words that would bring healing.
Again, words we say, just as Jesus spoke, can bring life or death!
Our prayers can bring life, life which is God's will.
It is God's will to bring life into the world, into your situation, and into your heart and soul.
John 10: 10 reads “the thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy I am come that they might have life, and have it to the full.”
The mystery of this can be also found in Luke 5:3 " and he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out deeper from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto SIMON, launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for drought."
Here is the mystery, wherever your heart goes the deepest, there your words will be. If your heart is cast out into the deepness of God's words and a deep faith takes root, you'll seek to see god's miracles and his will in your life. If your heart is cast out into the deepness of the world's ways and a deep unbelief in god's ways takes root, you'll seek to live your life apart from god
And will not see his miracles. Wherever our heart seeks deepness, be it in god or in the world, the root that grows in it will be revealed by the words we say.
John 7:38 " he that believeth on me, as the scripture has out of his belly will flow rivers of living water."
Launch out into the deep of god's words and rivers of life will come out of you!! Consider what you say and see if it came from the deepness of God's words or from the deepness of this world.
Mathew 15:11 “not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of a man's mouth, this defiles a man." A man’s heart is revealed through what comes out of his mouth.
Mathew 15:17 "Do you not yet understand that whatsoever enters into the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile a man. For out of the hear proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witnesses, blasphemies: these are the things that defile a man."
Cast your heart into the deepness of Christ's words and take that into your life that only Christ's words will come out.
The words we say can bring life if they are words that are near to God's heart. The words we say can bring death if they are words that are away from god's heart and are near to our own heart. Out of our own hearts comes evil, because we are born into evil.
You have said! His kingdom, his will, his provision, his ways!!!
The words we say!!!
Now comes the time of decision; you must turn from your ways of sin and completely trust Jesus Christ to save you. “let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the lord, and he will have mercy on them. Will you accept Jesus? Then if you will confess with your mouth the lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved!” Romans 10:9
